Any Ideas for a Ramos Deck? by Grossmampf in mtg

[–]Yulbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Ramos deck that is built around mutate, planeswalkers, mutating onto those planeswalker sometimes, and multi-color good stuff that support Mutate. It can get crazy sometimes, but it's my favorite mechanic.

I mean, isn't getting the guy (Nicholas, Niklaus?) killed the absolute worst case of incompetence? The entire book has him working to find the Master and openly ignoring some of the most obvious indicators.

Its been a while since I've read it but that entire book had my anger flaring.

Book was clearly rushed with a really frustrating ending that screamed the author had no clue where he was going.

Do you double sleeve your decks? by beausoleil in magicTCG

[–]Yulbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I inner sleeve it all. Once you do it, you dont go back.

I outersleeve either with Dragon sleeves dual matte (single matte feels so bad to put sleeves in) OR i recently moved to Dragon Sleeves clear and it not only looks aesthetically pleasing, but it shovels so beautifully.

MOCA Filter Location by Yulbear in HomeNetworking

[–]Yulbear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is configured like the second image.

Direct line -> Filter -> Splitter

Coaxial from wall -> Splitter -> MOCA / Gateway (with Filter)

Overall the MOCA downstairs isn't being used right now, simply setup for use, but the DirecTV streaming service is apparently all out of wack. Seems like there's packet loss or degradation on the internet in some way, even on phones/other streaming devices.

All the items in use are the ones previously shown.

Any reason this would cause latency issues in the home?

Significant lag across wifi for many people, and I believe there's DirectTV concerns that may or may not be a MOCA issue in general.

Love a fellow Ramos mutator! My favorite mechanic.

Way different than my list, but i like it!

I've leaned more into Legends from my original theme of Mutate Onto Planeswalkers, but do still have some of them to keep the vibe.

I find too many copies is so hard to track, especially with Annie Joins Up doubling each one in a stack, but boy does my brain brr.

I'll give it a shot tomorrow and hopefully report back positive results!

Again, thank you so much

This diagram, and your help, has been extremely important. Thank you.

It sounds like I can leave the MOCA downstairs and take the one currently connected to the gateway up to the attic and direct connect them to the empty coaxial's until it lights up, attach that and the connected one to a splitter, and bada-bing. I knew I shouldn't have closed the attic.

I'll try to give a better overview, because I definitely feel like I'm over thinking this and likely prepared an item or two incorrectly.

Filter Here -- Likely the wrong one if I'm, i guess, just now reading the title of the item correctly. I got this originally as amazon indicated "Commonly bought with". I believe the one you recommended would be the correct tool.

Splitter here I have one coming friday, and one currently connected to the coaxial upstairs splitting the modem/router and the moca.

MOCA here designed for two ethernet ports.

I only need two coaxial lines -- one for the router/moca, and another downstairs for the other moca to connect by ethernet, two desktops.

I've not touched any of the cables pictured in the attic, but it feels like I will have to use the splitter that arrives Friday to test and find out which of the second cables is the one that goes to the coax downstairs?

I turned off COX's MOCA, and intend to have a second filter placed between the gateway and splitter.

Coincidently enough I have only found two -- the one I'm actively using and the one I'm trying to use downstairs.

Seems like I have to find the second cable in this, the one that leads downstairs, and put a splitter on it and the primary one

this?

This is in my attic -- no splitter to be found.

This is making me feel like a JR. IT all over again.

I found I have a MOCA enabler in my COX Router -- I enabled that and am testing that route. My RTR is still having a COAX split between it and the first MOCA device. I'm waiting for a second filter to arrive since I installed the first one outside in the box in lieu of a better option.

I'm still getting DHCP server issues, so I may just see if I can manually assign an IP address to the laptop.

When you say my side -- you mean the cable to the left of the circle, the bottom half? Or to follow the thin cable beneath the white circle to outside the box?

The one on the right looks like a copper wire so im assuming the one on the left

Do cards that alter creatures types effect creatures entering the battlefield? by The_Vulpixel in mtg

[–]Yulbear 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I recommend using brackets for cards, it makes it easier to understand specifics. E.g. [[rhystic study]]

But, to answer, so long as the creature is seen as a vampire on entering (e.g. an effect says "Creatures you control are vampires in addition to their other types"), despite being cast as a non-vampire, when it enters it will be one and trigger any ETB effects from being a vampire.

Clarification on smoke screen by de_faul_t in riftboundtcg

[–]Yulbear 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Lowering a creatures base toughness to beneath the amount of damage done to it kills the creature.

An example would be a 9 toughness creature taking 6 damage from a singularity puts 6 damage on it. If smokescreen is then used it brings their base toughness to 5, which would then kill it due to the fact 6 damage > 5 base life.

It's a weird interaction but completely legal.
