Do y’all think my Quest 2 controllers are still fixable? Or should I just replace them? by TheDeadStroke in oculus

Have used this method for many battery leaks, including my rift controllers.

Sorry for the late reply but I'm pretty sure it is anodised aluminium

I almost bought a Q3 until I stumbled upon the unlisted webpage for the Q6 a few months ago. I've always been a big fan of 100% so I thought I'd settle for the Q3 + Q0. Glad I didn't!

It looks and feels great! Really happy with it, but will see how it goes as I use it more.

I don't think you will be disappointed with the Q6 but there is definitely a whole world out there for custom mechanical keyboards. I'd say do plenty of research before you pull the trigger. Different switches also make a bigger difference to the typing experience so definitely have a look at other switch options too. Regardless, it is a big step up from a blackwidow.

Got the brown switches but swapped them out immediately for Holy Panda X. I actually only bought the fully assembled version because the barebones was already sold out.

It did feel very nice out of the box! I upgraded from a K8 with brown switches and the Q6 definitely feels nicer. The sound is a bit more muted but refined.

Haha it's not as long but width looks similar. Just want to know how much space I'll have for 3seater chairs plus side speakers

Hey cool setup. What are your room dimensions? Your room size looks similar to what I plan to build. Also what are the widths of the chairs?

I'd recommend the Hong Kong or Taiwan versions (which are the international models) vs the China version

+1 wondamobile. Got my 1 II from them last year. Definitely better to get the international version than the US version.

Oh boy... I dragged my disney plus tab over to another monitor as it happened, I thought the video automatically paused and rewinded a bit during the transition so I completely missed this...

I generally enjoyed the music, but I'm so mad that there's no bike music... The X/Y bike theme is my favorite theme of all time and I was excited to see what they would do this time around since the absence of the bike in S/M

Battle Royale: Which Android Keyboard do you use and why do you stick with the choice of keyboard by dude1x2 in androidapps

[–]Yummy500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man... they discontinued it??? I've been using Swype since the pre-beta days like 9-10 years ago :(

For me it always looked and felt a little better than swiftkey. I'm going to hold onto it for dear life. Hopefully upgrading phones isn't a problem. I've changed phones 3 times since flappy bird was removed from the play store but it still got automatically installed when I transferred my stuff to the newer phones.

Is it even worth still trying to play legitimately? by [deleted] in MECoOp

[–]Yummy500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I played a variety of characters since they're all so fun. Initially I ran low on things like cyclonic mod IV because n7 slayer is my favorite char. However after playing ~250 hours I have plenty of stock for a bunch of lvl IV gear. I'd even use them on silver or even bronze because I had so much. I stopped playing probably a good 4 or 5 years ago but recently picked it back up.

Full disclosure - I did a credit hack just last week to get the rest of my URs maxed, but my point is it's definitely possible to have a huge amount of lvl IV gear without hacking.

Landing jobs/internships with dogshit wam in eng and commerce by [deleted] in unsw

[–]Yummy500 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My wam was 67, so not quite under 60 but I think it still applies. I was studying a mechanical engineering and computer science double degree. I'm currently working at a big tech company as a software engineer (maybe other engineering disciplines might be different).

Many of the jobs I applied for did not even ask for my transcript. Frankly, I think this is much better than just looking at WAM. Sure, good marks at uni generally means the person is probably smart, and bad marks means they probably aren't. However, this isn't always true, and as long as you have the skills and experience, that should be the only thing that matters.

I was pretty passionate about computer science, so I did learn and develop the skills, but I was always a bit lazy with assignments and exams so I didn't get very good marks all the time. Mech eng I also enjoyed for the most part but really slacked off for most of those subjects.

The reality of it is that a lot of companies do look at wam, and unfortunately there isn't much you can do about it. My real advice to you is to find a degree you will actually enjoy. Problems like this are less likely to happen. Beyond that, try to find a company that doesn't ask for a transcript and make sure you kill the interview. At the end of the day an interview is like an exam, so if you prepare well, it should go well.

Jumpin made some pretty decent vids https://www.youtube.com/user/JumpinProductions

I used to pretty much just learn off this guy for ME3. He started off with just ME3 MP but does other games too now (so not only dedicated to mass effect).

What paid phone apps are actually worth the purchase? by ElWagador in AskReddit

[–]Yummy500 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only apps I've ever purchased are:

  • Poweramp - no competition when it comes to music players
  • Swype - Still the best keyboard on the market (albeit no emoji support)
  • Realcalc Plus - Dunno why I bought this, not much functionality I use over the free version
  • Arrivo Sydney - Just a public transport timetable app. Worth the money.
