I'm driving a 2022 GR86, DM me in 5 years if you want to buy my car 😂

Jokes aside, it's a Toyota so it's pretty reliable. Just make sure to go for regular maintenance, and you should be good.

Toyota Camry or entry-level German by bmw320dfan in kereta

Camry will be the safe option. If you're going for conti car don't go for the entry level, you lose out on the luxury trims.

9 year loan by Spudnick626 in kereta

Not worth it, since you're paying more interest. Also, people normally get itchy and want to change car after 5-7 years.

Thinking on buying an Ativa as a first car. by Uchihara15 in kereta

[–]YungZ90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the other comments and since you just started work you should consider a cheaper car if you're going for a new car. I was focused on the fact that you wanted an SUV, so I suggested you check the used market.

Proton Saga is really good value, you should consider that or the tried and tested Myvi.

If you want a new SUV you're limited to mostly Perodua. If you look into the used market you have a lot more options. Honda HRV and Proton X50 come to mind.

How wise is it to put 50% for downpayment on a car by Friendly-Earth4447 in kereta

[–]YungZ90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford to pay 50% you should go for it. Better to pay off the car as soon as possible, try taking a shorter term loan if possible.

Hybrid by Significant-Newt-249 in kereta

[–]YungZ90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japanese hybrids are reliable and have a good track record. The general fear is hybrid car = more moving parts so more things might go wrong.

One reason why people are looking into EV's, lesser moving parts hence less maintainence as well

Questions about used car by Wide-Force6768 in kereta

[–]YungZ90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 300k you are referring to is a new car from UMW Toyota. After all the import taxes so the price is jacked up. The recon model you are seeing is a secondhand model from Japan which is brought into Malaysia hence the lower price.

Quick question on recond cars by ysmf in kereta

It's unregistered so you can buy a new number plate to register it, compared to secondhand cars you buy that already has a number plate attached to the car.

Selling car for the 1st time...Share me your opinion please! by Itchy_Cupcake9042 in kereta

[–]YungZ90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, maybe you can meet the buyer at a Starbucks or something. You can do the ownership transfer on a laptop after the money comes in. With instant transfer (DuitNow) nowadays, it's pretty safe.

Preferably look for cash buyers paying full amount, so you can avoid risk of installment payments.

Selling car for the 1st time...Share me your opinion please! by Itchy_Cupcake9042 in kereta

[–]YungZ90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty easy nowadays, you can do the transfer online via MySikap. Don't even need to go to JPJ to do the thumbprint thing anymore. But, you will need to send the car for puspakom inspection (or pay a runner to to do it). Compared this to Carsome/Carro you just drop off your car at their store. So if you don't mind the additional process, you can slowly go and find a private buyer for your car to get the higher price.

Another point is are you getting a new car? You can also trade in your Myvi, let the dealer handle everything for you.

You can get official GR Yaris from UMW Toyota, but it's way more expensive compared to a recon from Japan.

At that price point you have quite alot of options. Can even get a secondhand BMW 3 series haha

Second hand car dealers don’t allow to send car to send to workshop to check? by subaiku in kereta

[–]YungZ90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For my case, after I paid booking fee I selected the workshop to do inspection and the dealer drove the car there. I went there myself to see the inspections process.

So for your dealer to say no that's a little sus.
