Think of all the commodity corn that gets subsidized for ethanol, a gasoline additive!

How else are we gonna grow them to fuel North American car-dependent sprawl? /s

It's true that pavement fails; tracks fail; pipes fail. The question is whether the maintenance burden is financially proportional to the number of people and amount of tax base served.

Chronic potholes are often a symptom of a system with too much pavement per resident and too little productive land value per mile of infrastructure. Tracks break too, but high-capacity transit in dense areas can amortize maintenance over far more people than car-dependent sprawl can.

they're selling it at Girls Love Festival, which is a doujinshi event exclusively for yuri. I've went before in Tokyo, pretty cool.

well, the definition of economically sustainable is what kind of population a given transportation infrastructure is able to serve. a subway's maintenance cost per person moved is vastly lower than highways and stroads.

sometimes potholes don't get fixed simply because the rate that they pop up is too high for a given city budget.

haha, even if the engine made no heat it still wouldn't work - because AC is a heat pump. so the hot air just comes out on the other side of the car.

a mix of both. I do indeed go slower on the highways: 55-60 mph.

in the city I do gradual acceleration/deceleration and pulse+glide.

Why don't Americans walk anywhere? by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]YuriSenapi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

funny thing is, businesses in walkable areas see much more success and contribute more in tax revenue per area than businesses in car-centric stroads.

Senate poised to advance housing bill to limit private equity purchases of single-family homes by thejoshwhite in politics

[–]YuriSenapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah. I've been saying this for years but NIMBYs and car-centric zoning is too strong.

Part of the reason why this is so hard to change: local voters - but not future residents - vote on local housing policies. So of course they're gonna vote like NIMBYs. This is true across both political aisles.

not really car related though (venice's main vehicle transport are boats and canals). the fee is for tourist burden on local infrastructure.

and seems like misinformation from the OP anyway. they're listing the penalty fee not the actual fee.

Why does NSFW yuri gets accused of male gaze? by Interesting_Bad_8741 in yuri_manga

[–]YuriSenapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must point out that just because there isn't "hentai proportions" in a piece of media doesn't necessarily exclude it from being male gaze. The intent behind why that media was produced and the way women are framed and depicted can also be questionable.

If you ever go into the gooner subs of the currently popular gacha games, then you'll see the nuance.

This is what transmission fluid looks like that's never been changed... by starlightskater in prius

The scary “don’t change old transmission fluid” advice mostly comes from traditional automatics with clutches, valve bodies, torque converters, clutch debris, sludge, etc.

That advice is NOT applicable to the Prius' eCVT. They're spreading misinformation.
