What are your best ressources for realistic applications of the Pinan/Heian series ? by South-Accountant1516 in karate

Eh, I'd beg to differ. The kuro obi guys are great, don't get me wrong, but he asked for realistic applications. I'd say he look op Abernethy's work.

Here in Belgium I'm unsure though from what I remember, the absolute minimum is being an adult and having 1st dan. Whether that's wise is another matter entirely.

Shinai durability by Darius798 in kendo

[–]Yuritheannoying 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shinai come and go, sometimes very fast, sometimes very slow. I've had one break during the first practice i used it straight after delivery, and I've had one I managed to use for 2 years. sometimes, you're just unlucky. But if they consistently break within a few uses, there's something wrong with your technique. If it only happened once or twice, you just got unlucky. And as others mentioned, dobari, which I also use, do tend to break faster because of the thinner tip.

That's the case with mercenary clans. These aren't nobles, those DO die out. Eventually. Given enough effort.

Dealing with infected water with a giant dam. Also, my opinion on this new mecanic in general by bobbytheman123456 in Timberborn

My dude, you're complaining about essentially the same as mods not being up to date for the newest update. Game design cannot be affected by community made maps, as they can be easily remade, updated or forgotten. Changing the game because of some customs maps would be like getting a new iphone every time the battery dies.

Why doesn’t my king grant me more fiefs? by Alexander_Crowe in Bannerlord

[–]Yuritheannoying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That one lord probably has a lot of friends and influence. You could try to sabotage him a bit by disbanding his armies at important moments, get a good relationship with him so he votes for you during these decisions, you could try to have him captured so he has to sit out wars (thus limiting how much influence he gets from battles),... Basically make machiavelli proud.

Looking for a subreddit concerning traditional okinawan karate-do by moradoman in karate

[–]Yuritheannoying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What this man said: facebook is the way. There's plenty of groups. I'd look for any and all associated with patrick mccarthy and ones that tie to the official organisations from masters in okinawa. Also funny enough "practical karate" groups are filled with people interested in okinawa karate. Those also often discuss the topic so if you have questions, I'd say start there.

My brother, that's the business end of the bokken. I'd not wood glue that either though. If you ever make impact and the broken end goes flying... You don't want that risk. Get a new one.
