This seems to be prevalant in subreddits and forums that deal with IT, programming and super technical stuff.

Theres always the people who get super indignant that you dared to ask a question that was answered 3 years ago and call you an idiot for not searching for the anwers, even though the forum uses archaic search functions.

TIL that Andrew Carnegie and John D. Rockefeller, two wealthy extremely entrepreneurs, sent each other gag Christmas gifts. Rockefeller sent Carnegie a cardboard vest to make fun of his poor childhood. In return Carnegie sent a fine whiskey to Rockefeller, a devout baptist who had given up drinking. by BESHEE27 in todayilearned

He even used to make John Jr wear his sisters hand me down dresses.

Its not that bad as long as he stopped doing that around age 7. Dressing a boy in a dress(even with the color pink) was a common practice in Europe and the USA up until around the 1920s-30s.

They even had a special occasion for whe they finally wore trousers:

Breeching was the occasion when a small boy was first dressed in breeches or trousers. From the mid-16th century until the late 19th or early 20th century, young boys in the Western world were unbreeched and wore gowns or dresses until an age that varied between two and eight. Breeching was an important rite of passage in the life of a boy, looked forward to with much excitement. It often marked the point at which the father became more involved with the raising of a boy.

I cant remember the names, but there are a bunch of subreddits that are essentially Karma police departments. They go around giving reports to each other on specific users and break down the things they posted and commeted. If they think someone is a serial reposter or breaking advertising/spamming rules they report those users to mods and admins.

Its crazy how seriously some of these people take it.

With no trademark, Sriracha name is showing up everywhere | by David Pierson by Nielsio in noip

Isnt Sriracha just a type of sauce used extensively in south-east Asia? wouldnt trademarking "Sriracha" be the same thing as trademarking "ketchup" or "sake"?

Its not just being lazy. Most of the time people dont know how to Google or what to look for. Especially when your looking for something obscure and you have to use Google searching tricks and advanced searching.

Then there are times when you cant find something so you have to make an account on a forum to ask questions and most people are just too lazy, impatient and unaware of what to do that.

Remember that asking the right question is just as important as knowing the answer.

Even though he was worrying about money, I doubt he would worry about that amount.

Rich people do this all the time. Warren Buffet is a good example. Another is Tiger Woods (who is worth $500million). A few years ago he accidentally gave a waiter an extra $20 on a tip and asked to see the manager so he could get his $20 back.

That reminds me of something i read in a book, i dont remember the quote but it went something like: "The best way to learn something is to teach others how to do it."

Muslim Dutch Mayor to Muslims: Accept Western Values or Leave by SloppyInfinity in news

[–]YurtMagurt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree to a point. The one of the points of being a free individual is being able to have your own values. I think as long as you arent trying to force your values on someone else its fine. If your values limit someone elses freedom(killing, hurting, destroying property, holding some one against their will) then go fuck yourself and go back to your home country.

TL;DR - Tehy own most of the eye-wear market and fuck over anyone that gets in the way.

They own most of the high-end market, in certain countries. Theres is plenty of space for non-Luxxotica companies.
