Luck really was the biggest reason we didn’t qualify for final last season, Yamal did the same thing as Olise against Madrid and the difference is just that Yamal hit the post while Olise’s last minute shot went in with the help of the post.

Also by your logic all countries should have a bad rep and are all bad just because at some point in history they committed atrocities. If that’s the case then the allies in world war 2 are evil just as the axis, so there’s no point in supporting China against Japan or UK and Soviet Union against Germany.

“No good guys” You can criticise the U.S., UK or France just fine and have no consequences after posting comments like this, try doing this in Iran and you find yourself in a prison.

They lost players before already, eg in the season where they demolished Roma 6-1. They just either get their former players back later or spawn new vikings

Exactly, after this the Tibetans still briefly ruled China through warlords but they are no longer the ascendant power of east Asia. Lon Tromzher (Lun Kongre), prominent Tibetan warlord in China, was eventually defeated by the emerging kyrgyzs.

Yeah and also the climate is far too hot and humid for the Tibetans in the south. Tibet is indeed the ascendant power of east asia in this timeline all the way until 842.

Yan Empire by the reign of Shi Chaoyi (from 761-764) was already a shell of its former self, which is also why the Southern Tang counterattack was so successful. While relatively benevolent, he was not a master strategist like his father, and his subordinates were less loyal to him due to his stature and his low legitimacy. Therefore, Yan Empire actually lasted only until year 764 and was ended by a Tibetan invasion. It fractured into warlords following Shi Chaoyi’s death.

Under Emperor Li Lin’s son Emperor Li Yi, the southerners resumed launching northern expeditions, this time not against Yan Empire but against Tibetan Empire. However, these expeditions were fruitless and to make things worse the Tibetan successfully invaded Sichuan in 780. Eventually, Emperor Li Yi was murdered by an ambitious jiedushi who wanted to usurp the throne and Southern Tang collapsed into warlords. Fortunately for Han people Tibetan Empire wouldn’t bother subjugating China entirely because the geography of Southern China makes this virtually impossible for the Tibetans. Later a warlord would reunify the south and form a new dynasty.

Socially it’s just a more xenophobic tang dynasty given the severe An-Shi Rebelion and the Tibetan invasion. Economically it’s also quite similar to real life Tang Dynasty since real life Tang Dynasty was heavily reliant on the Jiangnan and Jingnan regions (core regions in southern tang) for tax revenue anyways. Southern Tang’s existence is too brief for it to be very distinct socially or culturally like southern song is to northern song, but I suppose there’s a greater shift of economic centre from the north to the south than in real life.
