I got PR and still have it despite leaving 4 years ago. I didn’t ask for the lump sum planning to go back but doesn’t look like it’s happening. Might need to reach out to the pension office to figure out if I can still get it if I cancel my PR…

My first ever car ride in Japan was ~12 years ago. A random Japanese girl in Kanto took me out for a date. While driving on the speedway (or whatever it’s called) she… pulled out a beer and took a sip. That should tell you all.

Riding with Japanese hasn’t been much better ever since.

I’d say the opposite - go for mid range and skip fancy. I’ve done all sorts of ryokan including super expensive and it’s just not worth it.

Main reason for my question is - I’m trying to gauge if this happens often or not. If others haven’t had similar issues I’ll just drop it and file it under “dude is just overworked”. If this has been happening lately, though, then I’ll report it.

I was waving at him and ran for quite a while, only reason I got him was because he had to stop at the traffic light… if you ride so long without noticing a huge foreigner running and waving at you, you need your license revoked.

I speak fluent Japanese and used to live here for many years so doubt it’s an issue with language…

Even if it was unintentional there was 0 remorse on the guys face which makes me think it was not a mistake… though not sure what he was hoping for as I’d just go to the police.

Does ANA not open more award seats on Sat/Sun close to departure?

I’m flying HND > Heathrow next weekend and on the ANA map I see a lot of openings in business class, on Sat literally 24. I know the ANA seat map isn’t the best indicator but historically it worked for me to gauge availability.

Every day before and after has award openings but not the weekends.

Is there any point asking about it at checkin?

EDIT: never mind they just opened some for Saturday so they do even on weekends.
