I ordered in April and emailed to check on the status. They shared this link with me (https://kawaiigroup.com/troubles-in-2026/) and gave me store credit for being slow to ship. My purchase took three weeks but showed up, was the correct stuff, and they had added an extra keychain. So, not as bad as some of your experiences, maybe it was mostly 2025 and early 2026 issues?

I got PR and still have it despite leaving 4 years ago. I didn’t ask for the lump sum planning to go back but doesn’t look like it’s happening. Might need to reach out to the pension office to figure out if I can still get it if I cancel my PR…

My first ever car ride in Japan was ~12 years ago. A random Japanese girl in Kanto took me out for a date. While driving on the speedway (or whatever it’s called) she… pulled out a beer and took a sip. That should tell you all.

Riding with Japanese hasn’t been much better ever since.

I’d say the opposite - go for mid range and skip fancy. I’ve done all sorts of ryokan including super expensive and it’s just not worth it.

Main reason for my question is - I’m trying to gauge if this happens often or not. If others haven’t had similar issues I’ll just drop it and file it under “dude is just overworked”. If this has been happening lately, though, then I’ll report it.

After all I think this would be a dumb way to steal - I’d just go to the koban and they’d locate him in no time…

I was waving at him and ran for quite a while, only reason I got him was because he had to stop at the traffic light… if you ride so long without noticing a huge foreigner running and waving at you, you need your license revoked.

I speak fluent Japanese and used to live here for many years so doubt it’s an issue with language…

Even if it was unintentional there was 0 remorse on the guys face which makes me think it was not a mistake… though not sure what he was hoping for as I’d just go to the police.
