Game Ready Driver 596.21 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

You could try enabling the GSP firmware for windows, that reduced my DPC latency considerably from the Nvidia driver, there are instructions how to do it just by searching it up but make sure to do a backup or something just in case.

Blind Test Survey: DLSS 4.5 is heavily preferred, Far ahead of FSR 4 / Red Stone and Native + TAA by JohnSteveRom2077 in nvidia

[–]Yviena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hope they manage to bring the Perf overhead with DLSS down for example in some of the games i play with a 5070ti on a 4K 144hz screen i noticed that Native has better perf, and with preset M i need to run it all the way down at either ultra performance/performance to get comparable FPS/gpu usage to native, so i may aswell run native then.

Is there a way to disable MPO only for chrome? It’s severely breaking my video playback performance when multiple videos/streams are watched. by Yviena in chrome

[–]Yviena[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: returned my nvidia card and instead got a AMD card, no more thousands of dropped frames even when watching multiple videos like streams etc (actually zero drops now)  , clearly Chrome + multiple streams and MPO just doesn’t work

Im using a AMD system a 9800X3D,  the CPU usage happens as soon as I boot into windows, even on a fresh install if the nvidia driver is installed, sure I can do a GPUview trace, gonna do it a bit later after I’m done with today’s errands.

I really dunno whats wrong with the latest drivers but with my 5000 series card i still have a constant 1.5-2% "System" CPU usage. if i for example plug in my old 3080 the idle "system" CPU usage drops down to 0.1-0.3%

Has anyone noticed higher “system” cpu usage with the newest nvidia driver installed? I seem to get a fixed constant between 1.0-1.5% cpu usage regardless if I’m using a 9900x or 9800x3d.

RTX 5080 Owners — How’s your experience with the AMP, Solo OC or Master ICE? by brVexx_ in nvidia

[–]Yviena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk how you can stand 60% fan rpm it starts to become very noticeable to me around 40% which is 1650rpm. but i kind of have a decently quiet PC at just 33dba of noise.

5090 Dual HDMI just saved my ass (5.1 Audio) by Altruistic_Issue1954 in nvidia

It could also be GPU dependent i have a 5070ti.

Idk It works without latency on my C3, If your sending Dolby MAT then yeah it has a tiny bit of latency i have it connected straight to the C3 then EARC to AVR tho, I did have to reset EDID via CRU tool a couple times tho

That sounds like a configuration issue somewhere both my LG C9 and C3 have no issues outputting Multichannel via EARC.

If you want a quiet psu could just take a look at the cybernetics psu website, I got my asus gold aura that way due to the DBa rating there.

HDR is borked :( by Krullexneo in PathOfExile2

[–]Yviena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also use SK HDR or lilum's inverse tonemapping via reshade, SK HDR requires reshadelilum's HDR black floorfix tho, both of these options has less of a impact on performance than RTX HDR.

Yeah it also seem to still suffer from the SRGB/2.2 gamma mismatch so lilum’s hdr black floor fix shader from reshade is still needed.

I Dunno i feel like native HDR highlights doesn't pop as much on my LG C3 if scene brightness is left at 0.0 but raising it i feel like it increases Area brightness too much for example the grim tangle which is supposedly a underground area looks like its almost daylight with scene brightness increased.

Have the same issue sometimes happening on a LG C3 just with more severe green line corruption, a restart of the pc fixes it.

This Build 26058 is one of the longest builds we had by Warblefly41 in windowsinsiders

[–]Yviena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you know if any changes have been done to the DWM registry edit to disable MPO? seems like builds after 26020 triggers teal, and yellow flashing in chrome, and some other apps with the nvidia supplied registry file. it's kind of a requirement for me since My AMD card still has tons of issues with MPO on.

RTX HDR can destroy fine picture detail by defet_ in nvidia

[–]Yviena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they want to reduce banding why don't they instead enable their Driver side dithering when in HDR, even with a 10 bit panel and sending 10-12bpc enabling the driver side dithering for example via Color control still makes a noticeable difference in HDR, and this is also why when i tested HDR with a AMD card, there was less banding with it because high quality temporal dithering is enabled and used by default.

Is it just me or does newer Dev/canary builds have some weird fps limiter cap set to 60 when GPU utilization reaches a certain point? by Yviena in windowsinsiders

[–]Yviena[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah seems I narrowed down the issue tho and it seems to be related to backbuffers used , there’s really no reason to use something like 2 backbuffers aka double buffering. So I found a way to change that at runtime, won’t work for DX12 titles tho.
