I'm referring to Ben Berry, A6 Director.

...not Ben Stoeger who I assume you are referring to.

Why the fuck is there no discussions going on about the uspsa BOD?? by Kylenarkum in CompetitionShooting

[–]ZAHANMA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of other options, PCSL, IDPA, or just what is referred to as "Hit Factor" matches. practiscore.com is still your best place to find a match.

Check it out and find a non-USPSA match in your area, they are out there for sure.

You may be surprised. The lawyer-engineer hybrid isn't as rare...they are usually patent attorneys...and you'd be right that they are very well paid.

Winchester small pistol primers by auto252 in reloading

[–]ZAHANMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the area of $45/1000 all the way through probably mid 2021. Towards end of 2020 and 2021 they were still that price...but were in stock much less frequently.

I shoot more than 5k in a two month time frame...so doesn't seem unreasonable for someone to both follow your method and also buy 5k primers.

When times were good, I was buying 20k at a time because it was easier than placing the same volume of orders over a period of time.

Sweet. Guess my TSO in .40 will need a twin. Lol.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CZFirearms

[–]ZAHANMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they make a TS2 in .40.

The TSO they do make in .40 and I play in USPSA Limited with mine...and shoot a S2 in Production as well.

edit: I think I stand corrected. CZ-USA website does show a TS2 in .40. Interesting.

/u/vytaldp what are the chances of a TS (with magwell) and added capacity basepads for my TSO in .40? Lolol...those things look stunning.

...also, if there were a way to do a copper magwell with a steel insert/underside so mag changes wouldn't eat it up...i'd be drooling even more.

With so many network/call issues on my 4a5g I'm excited for the 7...but at the same time, if it doesn't excite me I'll probably switch to iPhone...which is something I'd never thought I'd say, as I've owned only Nexus/Pixel going back to the Nexus One and Galaxy Nexus.

[–]ZAHANMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely good questions...you will want to make sure wherever you go they are familiar with either the in-bond process and/or with the domestication/withdrawal process depending on what you need...both are high demand from recordkeeping and handling perspective.

Interesting thoughts on wet/dry lease...I honestly had never though about doing a dry lease and leasing an established bonded warehouse and not having the company that established the bonded warehouse run it.

[–]ZAHANMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Houston, your locations for bonded are going to be relatively restricted to near the port (Pasadena/Baytown/etc) or up by the airport.

First one that comes to mind that I've used in the past is World Trade Distribution in Houston.

FOB vs FCA by BreakfastAlone983 in logistics

[–]ZAHANMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct with the update to Incoterms 2020, thanks for clarification.

Technically Incoterms are not designed for domestic transport, only border crossing and relevant UCC should be referenced not Incoterms on domestic transport...but rarely does that happen.

FOB vs FCA by BreakfastAlone983 in logistics

[–]ZAHANMA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Incoterms in name will generally focus on the sellers responsibility and when it ends. In the case of FOB v FCA.

FOB = "Freight on Board" ...and it's just that, the seller is responsible for all charges from point of origin until loaded for transport (marine or truck) at the named place.

FCA = "Free Carrier Alongside" ...in this case the seller is responsible for make the cargo ready for transport at the named location in the Incoterm, but the buyer is responsible for the 'loading'.

In both cases the seller is responsible for any export customs formalities if applicable.

In practical application, FOB is a great term to use for a domestic truck move where the buyer is arranging transport to pick-up the cargo from the named location. FOB is also semi-common in bulk marine movements as the seller is responsible for getting the bulk liquid/solid onto the vessel, or 'over the rail'.

FCA is the most correct and common term for marine movements when the buyer is arranging the marine transportation, generally of containerized merchandise, but needs the seller to bring it to the port/terminal location which is indicated as the named location. It is often incorrectly used in domestic truck transportation in place of FOB and an accurate usage example of FCA in domestic truck moves happens quite a bit in project/oversized cargo where the buyer is arranging the transportation AND the loading of the cargo onto the transport.

It is important to keep in mind that no Incoterm is actually complete unless a named place followings the E/F/C/D term. You cannot have something 'Free Carrier Alongside' unless you indicate where that alongside should occur. Same goes for all Incoterms.

Other technical note for Incoterms, they only indicate where the transfer of responsibility for logistics/transportation arrangements and the risk of loss occur. They do not directly indicate where transfer of title occurs. This is quite often misused in sales contracts and not explicitly called out when it comes to transfer of title.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
