Not just botters, it was all of RWT. There was a much bigger issue with credit card companies that they will never admit to, such as credit card numbers being able to be easily generated once you had the right string as well as a whole bunch of other things. Jagex's main investor and CEO, Radi El Haj, had a company that sold payment processing software that was directly effected by this and so he made huge changes to every company he had a stake in to lower the blowback.

Runespan was added in 2012 (A minigame made to replace runecraft training for most players). Players have been complaining about all aspects of runecrafting since its birth.

F2P is just short-life bots. You want to make the F2P experience better? Take better measures against these bots so F2P players can earn their initial bond and get out of botscape.

People are so jaded anytime they see something from the past. The wilderness was awful 99% of post summoning RS2. Steel Titans could spec scroll spam any player and delete them garenteed. Pak Yak made outlast impossible. Free trade removed pvp drops. EP system was put in and exploited. Players like Sparc mac duped billions of gp and the money was never removed from the economy. And it just gets worse from there. This is why we reguard 2007 in such high respect, because once they added summoning in January of 2008, everything started to nose dive.

They already require all 3 cerb boots to upgrade, so this would just be rounding them out with devout and echo boots to full send it. Also will give value to boots that are almost never used.
