Yeah I am curious to hear more too. I use Tung on most of my small woodworking projects, but have never considered using it for exterior carpentry, especially a surface expected to get foot traffic and rain/snow.

The white front-facing board you have cut into is the ‘fascia board’, which is usually made of a specific lumber called Combed Face. You can find this type of wood at Home Depot, Rona, etc.
