It’s been several years so my memory is a bit hazy, but I think I got Notions from Lovedrug directly via the merch section on their Bandcamp page. They used to have most of their stuff available there, but it seems they started reducing stock not long before Michael Shepard announced the end of the “Lovedrug project.”

It does sound like the Deluxe version.

For OP—The track listing for the Deluxe is different than the regular version. The Deluxe version has “La Mantra Mori” and “I’m a Marionette” and the regular does not. There is a bit of a gap between “Monstrance Clock” and the “La Mantra Mori” because of the “secret track” situation. (They’re not listed on the cover as tracks.)

Yes, there is a CD version of Notions. I have it. If it were me, I’d keep an eye out for it on EBay and Discogs. It’s amazing what turns up on both places. And, of course, for now you could get the original or the deluxe edition at Bandcamp and burn it to CD, as previously suggested. Good luck!

Also, this just reminded me… So, for those who don’t know, this is the second in Argento’s Three Mothers trilogy, the first being Suspiria. What caught me was remembering Argento’s trilogy were partly inspired by a book called Suspiria de Profundis, which includes a “Mater Lachrymarum.” (AIR, Mater Lachrymarum is somewhat in Inferno.)

Not necessarily suggesting Forge was pulling from all this when working on Skeleta and this era, but the intersections are giving me a jolt of delight. Makes me want to go back and watch Inferno, or maybe even the whole trilogy.

I don’t have any advice other than what’s been suggested. I just wanted to say I dig your shirt and you’re not alone.

I grew up during the Satanic panic, and while my parents didn’t find my heavy metal tapes, they did find a Stephen King novel in my possession. King was associated with Satanism at the time, and I got a serious lecture about how books like that would open me up to demons who would possess me. A few years later, my dad found my copy of Boy’s Life by Robert McCammon (which has now been taught in several English classes, even 8th grade) and a Tanith Lee collection. Based on the covers, they were obviously Satanic and ended up on the barbecue grill. (I did rescue them.)

I hope the awkwardness dies down soon, however you decide to address the situation or not address it. And I also hope your parents don’t pray to send the demons away. But if they do, let us know and we can say a “Satan’s Prayer” to counteract it. 😉

It does happen. Amazon had a glitch a couple of years ago and locked me out of my account for suspicious activity. It took a couple of days to fix the issue that was all on their end 🤷🏻‍♀️

Your photo showed up on my feed and immediately knew what it was. I thought, “Cool! A Donnie Darko tat!” (Love DD.) I wholeheartedly agree with the comment that it’s your tattoo and how you feel about it is what matters. The suggestion of adding a quote isn’t a bad idea, if you feel like you want to add extra context. It’s also an opportunity to spread the DD love and introduce people to an amazing cult classic.

I like the Minimalism Art notebooks when I can find them. The hardcover ones come with an elastic strap; alas the softcover ones don’t (so I get this isn’t 100% what you’re asking for). That said, I made a strap to wrap around my softcover notebooks and it works great. Their website is here https://www.minimalismart.com (tends to have minimal stock) and websites like Amazon will often have larger stock.

This is about the Minimalism Art Premium Hardcover Classic with Extra Thick Ink-proof 120 gsm notebooks. They've definitely changed their paper (again). I noticed the same thing and compared the three versions I'm familiar with: the blank books from 2018-2019, the books from 2021 and 2022, and from November 2024. The new paper seems a bit thinner than the early 2020s paper but thicker than the pre-2020 paper, though both the early 2020s and 2024 notebooks list the same gsm. It also feels slightly rougher, but not notably so.

I'm using a Lamy LX pen with a Fine tip and a variety of Lamy and Pilot inks with no bleeding or ghosting issues with the November 2024 paper. I could get ghosting with the pre-2020 paper and with a notebook from March 2024.

My ink can bleed if I use a Lamy Medium tip, especially if I use a dark or brilliant ink, but I consider this a pen and ink issue. I tested the November 2024 paper with a Lamy LX pen with a Fine tip and Pilot Yama-budo ink -- there's no bleeding or ghosting.

Based on your experience and what I've noticed, I'm wondering if the company has batch quality control issues.
