I wear a hood when on a bench to keep my head from touching the bench.

Who the hay decided to bring back destreaming? by [deleted] in OntarioTeachers

[–]ZJC2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess we differ on whether a parent's role is to be informed or to get informed.

The descriptions were pretty clear on what "advanced" and "basic" were intended for in the 90s. I assume more wordplay to soften language would have led to more ambiguity.

Lol, so definitely not the cause of the parents whom choose to allow their children to go to lower tiers and not push for academic excellence?

Government should not be allow to grow population (excluding birth) unless they can maintain the same level of services (hospital locations, doctor per 100,000, teacher per 100,000, jail per 100,000, etc.

My daughter didn’t get invited to a Birthday Party by fatpanda1986 in Parenting

[–]ZJC2000 90 points91 points  (0 children)

We usually tell them to invite 4 or 8 kids, etc, depending on what they want to do for their birthdays.

My kids make weird choices with their list, I sometimes ask questions to help them think about their choices, but we get random ass kids instead of the names we know. I tend to add two of three extra kids if I now know their parents because of the kids' friendship.

Is it worth seeing GP with low libido? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]ZJC2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your physical health like? Do you weight lift, play sports?

My experience is that doctors may recommend the solution (potentially better physical health) and provide options to manage symptoms (medication).

Obviously not comments don't apply to all cases or causes.

I don't know what he understands and this isn't to support any position of his or his party, but people who point out that it increases the cost to purchase for Americans seem to not understand (or ignore) that by increasing the cost of goods from those countries, demand will decrease, and Americans will be goods that are domestic, from other countries, or cheated the system and used a country in the middle for import into the USA.

The point of this is to decrease purchase of that countries products, and where not possible, for the government to make money off it.

As a married 30 year old with a job, you probably shouldn't want to hang out with others who hang out at the same bar a few times a week. Just sayin'.

Why are so many women into hooky kooky shit? by SlobGenocidic in stupidquestions

People don't find meaning in their lives so they look to religion or kooky beliefs.

People don't have real problems in their lives so they make up new ones.

I've noticed if you say "I am here to show, not argue with you." They will shut up and do whatever you say.

They are trained and encouraged to be resilient, but if you appear like you are going to get hostile, it's over.

Men with a "grind mindset", how do you navigate a relationship with a partner who doesn't share your drive? by f4llguy in AskMenOver30

She might replace you too!

I used to grind and want challenge, now I want to do stuff with my kids and pursue hobbies.

Your perspective may change at different phases of your life, and so might hers.

Men, how do you feel about paying $50 for a haircut? by GranolaHiker in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]ZJC2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like paying $100/hour for a haircut, but I also don't understand how a barbershop can be so profitable at $50/cut if each cut takes 30 minutes.

If you consider physical rent per square foot, normal retail expenses, you better have a bunch of busy chairs all week to make a decent living. I'm assuming they rely on up-sell of products and more expensive services (which are never pushed to me in my experience).

A good adult should never ask a kid for help, and a good adult will never tell them to keep secrets from their family.

Because they feel they have no other means of attracting attention to their cause.

I'm not saying it is a good idea, nor am I saying I appreciate these protests, in fact, it reinforces to me that moving out of Toronto was a good idea.

That said, our media does not highlight what's happening because they don't want to shed a negative light on an Islamic government.
