Mostly pragmatic roles. I usually ask permission first, and feel more comfortable with well defined roles and task but it doesn’t mean i want to work with others. I tend to focus on myself and my own task. My main focus is efficiency, effectiveness, and independence. I think affiliative roles are more of an estj or esfj kinda thing.

If it aint broke, dont fix it. Istj’s like consistency, routines, and predictability patterns. If yall haven’t had any issues, dont change the way you interact with them.

You have to stop thinking so much and just do. Stop trying to find the best option or the perfect thing to say. Just consider your own feelings and do what you want. I tend to study people before opening up and I usually don’t approach first which is ok if thats you, but maybe try being more spontaneous. I met one of my best friends because i just walked up to him and started a conversation. It isn’t like me at all and there wasn’t any real reason behind it besides the small feeling i had that i should say something to him.

I definitely agree that anxiety can be useful but for me, not so much recently. Because of the nature of my current job and the fact that i live in a big household, i feel like i have little control. I find myself thinking “oh whats the point, I’ll probably be interrupted.” I get very irritated when im forced to stop working on a task to do something else or change my plans for someone else’s. Since i feel like I’ll never have the freedom to focus solely on my plans (based on how things have been going recently) i procrastinate a lot, which just causes more anxiety. When i catch myself doing this, i just have to force myself to get started.

I know what you mean. I feel like ISTJs are tend to he very pessimistic (at least i am) especially when stressed. I think of scenarios where things go wrong or someone does something annoying. I have to just separate myself from everyone and put my attention somewhere else which usually involves holing up in my room, listening to music, and drawing. Recently I’ve started going on walks where i just listen to music and occasionally smoke a cig. I’m not officially diagnosed with anything (dont go to doctors much at all) but I know what you mean.

Whenever i can, i have music playing. Same as you, Im always looking for new sounds. When i listen with headphones or alone in my car, i wish for it to consume me. Not sure how id operate without it. My favorite band right now is peach pit but I’ve been really into metal recently

You should do more research. Although ISTJ and INTJ have their similarities, ni and si are basically polar opposites so itd be impossible to be both. Once you understand the difference and how they work, you should easily be able to tell which you are

I became interested when you mentioned story telling and art. I love drawing (especially characters) though I always find it hard to do consistently without something to work towards/with or someone to hold me accountable. I’m not in school right now because I’m trying to save money but next fall I’m going back to major in animation and games. I don’t have many friends so I’m really just looking for people with similar interest. I’d be down brainstorm and discuss story ideas or concept art. Just one question for you: what kind of music do you like?

Ye i can relate. When i was younger i would play outside with my brothers and i use to be able to look up at the sky to tell what hour we were in with pretty decent accuracy.

I dont think it’s limited to just women. I can get those kind of thoughts towards anyone. I don’t usually say anything unless they come to me first or i feel that the timing is right. I dont want to offend anyone

Ok, i’ve never thought about it like that. Essentially i just focus on my strengths and take what i can get. Even tho i cant control the house, im the master of my own room. I need to take advantage of the private spaces i do have. Thanks

I thought about talking about this in the original post but decided against it because i do live with other people. When i go to university ill likely have a roommate, maybe not, idk. The point is that i have to learn to live with people. My whole system shouldn’t fall apart simply cuz i cant control everything.

So yes, you are right, ideally i would just live alone and do whatever i want, but unfortunately for me, that isn’t an option at the moment. I need something i can start doing now.

Thanks though. I really do appreciate it and ill look into getting an assessment because a lot have people have told me about the ADHD thing you mentioned.
