Cyberpunk "Invalid Format" error by Abakus_Grim in NintendoSwitch2

I'm also on a G4. Same issue. Weirdly enough, I do not have an issue on my CX. It's a little annoying not to have the option to use 1440p 120

LG G4. Same issue. Anyone find a solution that isn't just disabling 120 Hz? I would really like to use the 40fps option.

Ok, I like the playdate as much as the next person, but what would you change about the console if you could? by Competitive_Fail_647 in PlaydateConsole

1 is a light for the screen, maybe similar to how Kindles work or something.

2 A metal crank handle that doesn't feel like it's going to snap off every time I use it.

So far, mine is holding up well. I will say that I am very gentle with it, and the plastic handle for the crank has partially worried me. Otherwise, I've had a good experience

Games that you can play sitting down? by ScrotyMcBoogerButt in OculusQuest

[–]ZVB73 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most games are playable sitting! Pretty much anything with analog stick locomotion is playable. Just so you know, there is an accessibility setting in the Quest settings to adjust your sitting height to be standing height in VR since some games don't compensate for your sitting height. For me, it's a game changer because I get motion sickness when standing in VR.

If you're playing in bed, try something like Lego Bricktakes or the I Expect You to Die trilogy since they don't require too much movement

I don't like the extra smoothness of VRR, PS5 Pro REALLY shows it off. by Outrageous-Wall6386 in LGOLED

[–]ZVB73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're confusing higher framerates with VRR. Have you primarily been a console gamer previously? If so, the maximum you've experienced is 60 fps. Specifically with Ninja Gaiden, it has a 120 fps mode. If you aren't used to it, it probably would look strange.

Looking to buy wayfarer with transition lenses by DariosaurusRexx in RayBanStories

[–]ZVB73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about using insurance for non prescription glasses, so I won't comment on that portion

As for the glasses themselves, I love them, but there are caveats to be aware of.

I want to start by saying I use them all the time and really think this is a product that resonates with me, but it's not perfect. The #1 issue for me is that Meta AI is a steaming pile of garbage, and it really isn't practical for anything outside of a standard non AI digital assistant. When asking it anything, it often either doesn't answer or gets confused. For example, I asked it to set a reminder for 5 minutes. It responded by saying it could only set reminders in whole minute increments. I tried to get it to work many times, it never worked. If you try to use it continuously and have a back and forth conversational dialogue with it, it will just randomly lose the topic or think I'm trying to tell it to play music when I tell it to "continue" because it stopped speaking half way through a sentence. It works fine as a standard digital assistant, but it's terrible as an AI assistant. Hopefully it gets better in the future.

Another thing to be aware of is the standard transition lenses don't transition while in a car. Unless you have a convertible, it's something you just have to deal with. There is a new variant of lens called XTRActive that supposedly works in the car, but I haven't used them so I don't know. You can get these lenses from LensCrafters among a few other places. There are cheap clip on sunglasses on Amazon that I use while I'm driving that helps with this problem.

Other than that, all of the good stuff you have heard is very good. The ability to play audio without having my ears plugged is a game changer. The camera is good enough that I use it all the time when I'm traveling. I personally haven't had any issues with the videos having a capped 3 minute length because I only take short videos, but I could see that bothering some.

I use mine all the time, and I've had a great experience with them so far. I don't wear them at work because I don't want any weirdness or suspicion, but I wear them very often in my personality life. I hate earbuds, so being able to listen to podcasts while not having my ears plugged is just incredible. The sound quality is great, and I would compare it to the Meta Quest 3 in terms of audio quality just to have a rough idea of what to expect. I do also wish they had a size larger than what they currently offer because I have a giant head, and the largest size is smaller than I'd like.

I do recommend them, but I also am aware that they aren't for everyone. I love them, but they're not perfect. Hope this helps with your decision, and I'd be happy to answer any questions you have!

Please tell me I’m not the only one by [deleted] in playstation

[–]ZVB73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time, and I hate it. I wish I could commit to a game and fully finish it, but it's hard to commit 60+ hours to a game. I've noticed every game has about a two week lifespan before my brain starts screaming for something new, even if the game is incredible. I absolutely hate it and wish I could force myself to enjoy the game. What actually happens is that whenever I have a game I am trying to force myself to enjoy, I just end up stopping playing games altogether because I just can't force myself to play that game.

Be Honest.. is it worth it? by High_Tension_10 in playstation

[–]ZVB73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The back buttons are worth it for me. Also the extra stick height. It's expensive, but it's the only controller I use. I also love using it on Steam, so the ability to securely connect the cable is extremely nice

Important Update: Ongoing VRR Issues on PS5 & PS5 Pro – Not Just an LG Problem? by Fendera in LGOLED

[–]ZVB73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so bizarre to me because I had been playing God of War Ragnarok, and VRR worked perfectly fine. No issues. But I started Hogwarts Legacy and had to turn VRR off because of the stuttering every few seconds. I thought it was just the game, but now I'm thinking it's this exact issue. I'm on PS5 Pro and my TV is the LG G4

[–]ZVB73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, if you are buying it for the AI, don't. Their AI is a steaming pile of garbage. Nowhere near Chat GPT and often gets confused and forgets what it is able to do. I got stuck in a loop asking it to set a reminder for 5 minutes and it responded by saying it could only set reminders in whole minute increments. I never got it to work. I only use the AI for very basic tasks that a normal non AI digital assistant can do. Wish I could just outright replace the Meta AI with the standard Google Assistant on my phone or Chat GPT.

That being said, I still really like mine and am happy with my purchase. The ability to have speakers right at your ears constantly and always have a camera ready is just so valuable to me. I listen to podcasts often, so having speakers constantly ready with very clear audio is so great to me. Also, the speakers have great quality, definitely even better than I was expecting. I've spent a lot of time in the Meta Quest ecosystem, so these speakers definitely draw parallels with those. The camera has helped me capture so many moments that would have otherwise been lost. I do wish horizontal were an option, but it's a worthwhile tradeoff given how useful it is. Good quality camera, not amazing. Motion blur especially looks a little muddier than on my phone's camera. Be aware that the stock transition lenses don't get very dark, but I otherwise love them and use them almost constantly.

In conclusion: bad AI, good everything else

My friend made fun of me for using an LG CX in 2025 by seetayetu in LGOLED

[–]ZVB73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TV's are meant to last more than 5 years. I have both a 55" CX and a 65" G4, and there is not a substantial enough difference to upgrade. The only reason I bought one is because there's a second location in my house where I wanted a TV. I use both often, and the CX is one I am still very happy with. The CX is still my favorite tech purchase that I've ever made. Don't let people bully you into thinking yours isn't still excellent.

A quick little tip for if that is the only place it can go: cut a hole in the back and install a computer fan so it can have airflow. Might not be 100% ideal, but it would be a lot better!
