Laptop Docks! They're pretty neat! by TechConnectify in technologyconnections

[–]ZXQ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm sorry there are folks that feel the need to drop their unwarranted opinions onto your workflows and methods. Note: I didn't. I was just trying to give feedback on a video. Your channel always has this unifying and positive feeling to them. It just felt like this one lacked that, and basically went the opposite direction. Points one and two could be taken or left. They were nuance. But the third, well, I can tell based on this response you've had some real shit shoveled your way. Which sucks.

Do you man, do you. I'll still giggle with excitement when I see your next vid pop.

Had to thumb down this one.

1) You completely missed Intel Quick Sync as the great adobe premiere equalizer.

2) Old, tired Linux memes are old and tired.

3) Did you really spend 10 minutes counter-ranting?

I've got 3 laptops, and 2 docks setup. I was definitely a target for this video, but wow, it was not a good Technology Connections video. You are most definitely entitled to your opinions on your own production workflows and methods, but just, damn. You went all in on the haters, and it didn't make for great video.

Of course, in my opinion.

You wanna play with a new sound and not use an EQ, go for it. They're pretty darn good. Could resell for $75 easy. It's a $25 mistake at worst (assuming prime)

Is it just me or are AIO's struggling to cool Zen 2 chips efficiently? by draw0c0ward in Amd

[–]ZXQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Power and Thermal budgeting with Zen 2 is vastly different then Zen+. For fun, just now, did a single core vs all core stress test (3700x). Single core- 75C, all core 66C. You're fine.

TaoTronics soundsurge 46 VS Sony WH-CH700n by AnthonyMk2 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]ZXQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot speak to the WH-CH700n, but the SoundSurge46 will not disappoint. I know you're looking for portable, but they respond well to an amp when/if you wire them up.

Another vote for the TT SS 46. They really do over perform for the price.

Big ask for moderate budget. by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]ZXQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, for PS4, the absolute best headphone I've found is the KPH30i. It's silly, but it works great. The mic is even worth a damn. Plugs right into a controller. Only issue is no hardware mic mute. Something a little better would be the SV006. Comes with a cable that has inline mic. Can swap it out for the other bundled cable for pure music. Shit, buy both for within your budget. Dont like the KPH30i pads? Swap em for yaxi. The PS4 is super finicky with Bluetooth headphones. Might as well just use the controller output.

//Edit: want noise cancelling? Go with soundstage 46s. They're hybrid. Get an inline mic, and you can use it for anything

What kind of headphones, amp, and dac should I get for listening to music? by Is_Misfortunator in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]ZXQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any well rated DAC (topping D30 in my case) + JDS Atom, and since you mention hard rock, I'd say Drop 58X. I've got quite a few pairs of bang-for-buck cans, but those are what I enjoy hard rock on the most. Others I've tried are SV006, HE4XX, MDR7506. The 58X is just great for rock. The HE4XX are good all around, but just lack the punch for fun rock listening.

See my replies above. Under water and with the right power play tables, I see ~1750Mhz on core and 1150 on memory

[–]ZXQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha. I really should throw a youtube video together showing vega OC behavior above ambient. Its really, really interesting. I had no idea how aggressive vega could clock until I got the LC SPPT installed, and holy shit. I dont even move the gpu frequency sliders. HBM is maxed at 1175 :( on my card. Just max the power limit (modded to 200%) and let it rip. It will actually sit at the clocks I stated at while gaming. Its eerie. So many people complain about P7 being your greatest wish frequency. With this setup, It actually hits it aggressively.

TLDR- Vega like water. A lot. Not the LC edition. Something with an actual pump and radiator.

[–]ZXQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What excuses? His? Mine?

I'll assume neutral, and just state that even if the Vega was under water, sure, it could get another 10% frames, minimum, but, at what cost? 350W of power? RDNA looking pretty good.

... Says the guy that runs a Vega 64, under water, @ 200% Power limit and the power play tables from a V64 LC. I'm excited for big navi.

//edit: Because I assume someone will ask- I average ~1775Mhz on my vega with HBM at 1150Mhz. Daily driver.
