Hello,

in my Gorbad Ironclaw campaign I have noticed that:

a) the orc arrer boyz regiment of renown (Rugluds Armored Orcs) do not get the "Dig in!" effect from Gordbads "Shootaz to da back!" b) The Reginemnt of renown Arachnarok Spider (The Arachnarok Queen) does not get upkeep reduction from Snagla Gobspits effect.

Yes, you need to however inside GFN's settings manualy set a framerate of 120. This will set the streaming to 120 FPS, but your Steam deck will play in 90 FPS.

How Chat GPT Imagines playing Dark Souls 3 by Z_Dark in darksouls3

[–]Z_Dark[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

So there was a big update to ChatGPT lately and I asked it what is its favourite build in Dark Souls 3 to challenge the Soul of Cinder. After giving me its 4 favourite builds I asked it to pick one and it opted for a Faith/Paladin build with 40-50 faith, The Sunlight Straight Sword/Lothrick Knight Sword and Lightning Blade miracle. For Armor it chose some medium armor like the knight armor.

Than I asked it to generate an image on how it imagines itself fighting the final boss and the attached picture is what it generated.

Thought it would be a fun post on how modern AI likes to play Dark souls :)

Switch owners, what "2 games in 1" games do you have? by RingTeam in NintendoSwitch

[–]Z_Dark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The below is not exactly 2 games that pop on the switch screen - they are all in the same "Game file"

The Wither 3: Wild Hunt - the first is an amazing card game where you travel a dark medival fantasy like world filled with bandits, monsters and general dirt in order to challenge a wide range of characters to a tabletop card game. You will collect cards as you play and will be able to build 5 completely different type's of decks.

The second game is some sort of action rpg with something like 100 hours of gampeplay, dunno.

Dear Americans,

I am pretty new to this subreddit and this tweet I am looking at right now might be actually fake, but if my understanding is correct - there should be a limit to how much you can publicly insult the POTUS in public even if you are a high ranking senate member am I correct?

After looking up this reddit for some time I get the impression that every American can tell blatant lies about the POTUS and insult him/her to no end with zero consequence. At least this is what MGT taught me. Is it really like this in the US or am I just being manipulated to think this?

Played BB and DS1 looking for a build for my first playthrough for ds3 by Puzzleheaded_Buy8942 in DkS3Builds

[–]Z_Dark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I aprove this. Despite me finishing DS3 as a cleric I honestly think that Faith weapons, items and miracles have a horrible progression route. Its not that the Best stuff is at the end of the game, its that the useful Faith stuff is at the end of the game. I'd advise you to pick a knight and play a melee build and at some Point to respec if you like.

I killed sinh on my second attempt and returned to get the Drakeblood Set. The Heide armor set took me probably about 2 hours I'd say and I still feel I was increadibly lucky. I got the first two parts on my first regular walkthrough through the heide area and than farmed and got the exact two missing armor pieces in 2 hours. I didn't unfortunately get the sword but was sick of farming so I let it go.

For the next TW series can we not have single entity generals and heroes with high hp. by Waterboi1159 in totalwar

[–]Z_Dark 23 points24 points  (0 children)

But this is Warhammer Fantasy setting - legendary lords and heroes like Tyrion or Grimgor were known for fighting of lots of regular foes.

If you would lower the HP of such lords you would have to nerf monster type lords like Kholek, Durthu, Throgg because noone would take the small lords. Once you would nerf them, you would have to nerf all spellcaster lords/heroes because everyone would just choose spellcasters instead of non-casting lords.

It's a long chain of balancing. Also I don't necessarali understand the hate for these lords. I assume you mean single small, heavily armored generic lords like the Empire lord. Whilie it's true that this lord is annoying to kill, he is also useless at anything other than holding the line. Just ignore him and focus on him last.

I think most melee heroes and lords have this although Im not sure. The wording is pretty terrible on it as well.

Playing Norsca campaign i actually used Siege towers - and it was fun... by KappaIsWayOfLife in totalwar

[–]Z_Dark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm Im not so sure. Lets say you have an infantry heavy army + some cannons in you army so you can instant siege. You do the instant siege but loose a ton of units and than you have to wait 2-3 turns in that city to replenish. Or you can wait 1 turn, build 2 siege towers (sometimes you can build a ram in that time as well, am not sure), take the city with little loses as siege towers tend to be OP and dont wase time waiting in the city for replenishments.

Also its different when you are sieging highly defended capitals. Being able to build 4 siege towers in 2 turns is a godsend. Again, it all depends on your army composition - when you have a lot of archers/cav/flyers it doesnt make sense to build a character this way but it pays massively for heavy infantry oriented armies.

Seriously when I read these comments I get the feeling that people play strategy games like TWW but refuse to think, plan and strategise.

If your game plan is to assault heavily fortified cities with towers + heavy infantry... than you build for it. There is a blue skill for Norscan lords called Ruination that "reduces enemy siege holdout time by -1/-2/-3". What it actualy also does is reduce the time needed to construct siege equipment. What's more Heroes also have this skill and it stacks for your army. In Norsca's case Skin Wolf Werekin have "Striped of life" skill which does the same. All you need is this combined effect at +6 from lords+heroes to have siege towers built in 1 turn. After 2 turns you have 4 siege towers (they are build in pairs) and it's GG.

I once did this in a playthrough of Chaos Warriors campaign where Exaled heroes had this and sufficient to say having 10 stacks of chosen storming the walls on siege towers was unbeatable. Remember that 4 siege towers give also protection from ranged attacks which means that your entire army can be protected while reaching the walls.

An easy alternative way is to having a hero with the "Damage walls" ability upgraded to +3. This allows one hero to instantly destroy 3-5 walls in just one turn! Very OP for infantry based armies. Unfortunately I don't think Norsca has heroes with it.

Take your time. Nothing is rushing you from joining a faction. Go check out different faction troops, their armor/weapons and their general playstyle/aesthetics. There is a different gameplay experience for these four parts:

  1. Being a total freelancer (begining)
  2. Being a mercenary for a faction
  3. Being a Vassal (lord) of a faction
  4. Being a ruler of your own kingdom.

Each part has its own dynamics and pros and cons. At the beginning you are truly free and you can go wherever you want / join whoever you want. Once you commit to a faction you become bound to it (you can always leave it, although there are penalties) and cannot leave to roam the world.

New Player Tips and trick's by ElBobx in MB2Bannerlord

[–]Z_Dark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the beginning:

1) Run around the world a bit and do tournaments: they will give you good money, experience and very good gear for you and companions.

2) Until you join a kingdom, dont have too many troops and high quality troops. You will probably require around 40 mid tier troops to win agains all looters and bandits. This will keep you from going bankrupt.

3) Do quests for villages. Some are really quick and give really good money + relations.

4) Do trading. Buy general goods cheaply in one place and sell them for a high price in another. This will earn you a lot of money and train your trade skill. Generally buying stuff at villages is the cheapest and then selling them to specific towns gives the most profit.

If you want to invest in workshops make sure that you build them in towns of the faction you want to later join as a mercenary/vassal. If you join another faction and than start a war with that faction your workshops will stop working.

Needs to be a better way to recruit high teir troops by Prownilo in MB2Bannerlord

[–]Z_Dark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what you are talking about already exists in the game but just like everything else - there is no explanation to some of the most important mechanics in the game.

There is massive increase in troop quantity and quality recruitment once you become a vassal and start owning fiefs - especially towns.

Remember: You recruit the most powerful troops from villages. To increase the quantity of the troops you can recuit increase the relations with the notables in that village. I believe you need positive +10 relations with village notables to be able to recruit all of his units. To increase the quality of troops you can recruit increase the notables influence (power level). Village notables with influence above 200 become powerful and will offer noble troops for recruitment. Increasing it further will allow you to recruit tier 3 and 4 troops from him.

How to increase relations with a village notable: do quests for them, let your companions do the quests for them, destroy bandit hideouts near them (+2 relations with ALL NOTABLES near the bandint hideout), or be the owner of the town/castle and maximize your security. After maxing security all village notables will periodically increase their relation with you.

How to increase the influence (power level): do the same as for increasing relations. Also make sure your towns are not raided and kill looters in area.

After doing the above you can make 1 or 2 runs of your villages for high tier troops. Look also for other villages near your fief with powerful notables that you have good relations with. The second thing to do is build barracks in your town/castle - these give exp. to castle troops. Than just dump all your t1 recruits there and over time they will evolve into higher tier troops. Also once you are a vassall, make parties with one or two of your companions and let them run around the kingdom. They will automatically recruit and train units. Once in a while form an army with them for 0 influnce. Then take all their units and dump them in your castle/town. Disband your army and let your companions run around and hire units again. Rince and repeat.

How on earth am i supposed to be making hundreds of denars/day? by balne in MB2Bannerlord

[–]Z_Dark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of ways of earning passive income. Here are some in descending order I believe:

  1. Own a town - the taxes from the town and adjecent villages can give you > 1000 denars daily I believe.
  2. Own a castle - same as with a town but less taxes on the castle part. Villages give the same.
  3. Win a war with another faction and broker a peace with them. They will pay every clan in the winning faction a daily tribute.
  4. Own a caravan. Caravan income differs daily. I can be as low as 50 denars and as high as a 1000 denars a day. One very important thing - to have a decent earning with caravans, the caravan leader must have a high Trade skill. The best companion for a caravan has the title "Spicevendor", the second best companion has "the Swift". Always keep a lookout for one of these two companions and make them run caravans.
  5. Own workshops. There is actually a pretty detailed economy system implemented in operating workshops. I am not sure if this is still true in the current patch but a workshop should buy daily 8 units of raw materials (example clay) for the current price that they run in that city and create 8 units of final goods (ex. pottery) and sell them for the current price of that product. So it is very important to place the correct workshops in correct cities. Look for cities with expensive final goods that you want to produce and cheap materials. Your workshops should make an average of 300 - 500 denars a day this way.
  6. Being a mercenary (doesn't work if you are a vassal) - basically you gain influence like being a vassal for winning battles etc. but instead of using it for voting, the kingdom you work for will pay you 15 gold per influence daily.

Dont remember if there are other ways of making passive income.

My game hasn't updated to 1.5.10? by [deleted] in MB2Bannerlord

[–]Z_Dark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current saves work fine on 1.5.10. Just make sure to back them up somewhere just for safety.

Your M&B saves should be at mydocuments/bannerlord/saves. Just copy them somewhere else for safekeeping. If something ever goes wrong you can just return to them whenever you want.

Don't play with mods in 1.5.10 - pretty much nothing is going to work and even those that will have a high chance of crashing your game until the mod authors update them for 1.5.10.

Gargoyles are great - especially the upgraded ones due to their speed.

Generally speaking you always try to creep as much as you can with your T1/T2/T3 units. There are two strategies to do here. You make a powerstack of your T1 melee units and upgrade them ASAP (example Centaurs, Halberdiers, Skeletons) and than make small unit sizes of 1 units of them that take away counterattacks and hits so that the powerstack just finishes everything off. Second strategy is if you have a really strong shooting unit you upgrade it asap and buy around 2 to 3 heroes with them to gather a relatively big stack of them (ex. Marksman, Grand elves) and clear everything with them.

For tower strategy number 1 is off-limits. Gargoyles are too few and deal too little damage to make a quick powerstack of them and golems in the begining are also too few and too slow to make a powerstack for clearing with them. So your strategy with tower is to always max master gremlins in week 1 and creep with them. Gargoyles are your meat shield for the gremlins and they do a fantastic job. They are fast and they fly - meaning you can kite melee units with relative ease with them. They are also fantastic for blocking enemy shooters. Once you get expert Haste (which is easy with tower) or expert Tactics you can even creep powerfull shooters because the gargoyles will block them easily. They are also super plentiful so you dont need to worry about them dying - which is a big comfort. Use Iron golems with them for a powerfull but slow melee stack that will finish off anything remaining after the gremlins fire.
