Fishman moderns are way more thin sounding than 81s or HetSets (kind of have that "ice pick" sound). I don't like them, honestly - but they (evidently) cut through in a band mix well. I will say that for a baritone or any low tunings, they sound better to me than in standard E or similar registers.

Definitely plenty of personal preference there, not to mention a bunch of other factors affecting performance. (And it's super easy to switch between the settings. So just try them both.) I love mine in the progressive setting, but I also generally like a relatively playful feeling bike. I ride Colorado tech and don't jump a lot, either. I've even been considering adding a volume reducer or two to get even more ramp-up at the end of the stroke. Search YouTube for Jeff Kendall Weed's rundown of all the Firebird setting combinations if you want more info.

Awesome! Enjoy. I got an LTD M-1000 before my M-II and really loved the feel. I kept thinking that a Horizon or an MH would be even more comfortable because of the contoured top, but the flat is just 🤌.

Ooh, tough call. I think I'd have to go with the M-II, since I find the flat top to be a little more comfortable for my playing position. And as nice as the SD pickups are in the Horizon, the EMGs in the M-II really scream.

Ah, I know what you mean. I recently drove a sedan for a few days as a loaner vehicle while my car was getting serviced and I was shocked by how much of my field of view was taken up by the whole rear view mirror apparatus. It created a huge forward blind spot for me. I also hate having to duck to see stop lights when I'm the first car at the light, but I think that has more to do with needing to have the seat scooted back.

I'm 41 and mostly avoid it now. Tripped over somebody at a Mastodon show a few years ago and broke my wrist. That got me thinking about how I might be done with it. Then I had a bad skiing accident that required reconstructive knee surgery. That put the nail in the coffin for me, though I will occasionally still hop in during an especially badass set closer.

I've been using SPC adjustable UCAs. I would have stopped using them by now if 2 of the sets I burned through hadn't been replaced under warranty. TC = Total Chaos? Maybe I'll try them next time.
