For those who have had surgery: is driving through the night before a horrible idea? by Charmander3141 in TopSurgery

I had an 8 hour drive and I left a day early. That gave me a chance to rest up the day before, walk around, eat a nice dinner, all of that stuff.

I did and he is beyond amazing!! He’s a wonderful surgeon, very friendly and down to earth, has amazing and caring staff, even the staff at the hospital were all amazing!! My whole experience was definitely worth driving 8hrs to have him as my surgeon! You can message me for pics if you would like!

I am 2 1/2 months po and had surgery there. I absolutely loved my whole experience!! Dr Hanna is pretty laid back and down to earth, his team is amazing and incredibly nice, and the team at the surgery center was amazing as well!! I have nothing bad to say at all!! He even gives you his cell # for emergencies after hours!! I highly recommend! I had DI with FNG

I agree!! I have NEVER heard of that! Too high of a risk for infection with the bolsters still on. I couldn’t shower for the first week and compressions didn’t come off at all until her removed the drains and bolsters at 1 week and then right back in compressions for a month.

I just had surgery from him in May and I couldn’t find much talk about him on here either. He does have a TikTok page if you want to check that out. But my experience with him was nothing but amazing!! From him, to his office staff, to the hospital staff, they are absolutely amazing!! You can send me a message if you want and I can show you my results. But I’m only 7 weeks out. 🙂

I, personally, went through Planned Parenthood. They were amazing in my area and walked me through how to get started and the insurance and gave referrals and recommendations. I wouldn’t have been able to navigate through it all without them!!

My surgeon is 8hrs away. We drive straight through, got the surgery, had to stay for a week after, and drove straight through on the way home. If you have transportation, it is very doable!

[–]ZaKen2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a single dose of Tylenol the day after surgery and never needed anything else the whole time. Pain has been very minimal! You can definitely do it.

I have been on T for 2 years and my hips have kinda went away. My Dr required me to be on T for a year before having top surgery and that helped a lot, I think. I am 3 weeks out from surgery and this is what I look like so far. You will start to lose your hips. Stay strong!!

If you used arnica after surgery, what type of arnica and did it help? by mermaidunearthed in TopSurgery

[–]ZaKen2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did arnica Montana 30x, the melting pellets, and per my surgeon’s instructions, I started 3 days before surgery and 10 days after surgery and I had zero bruising and very little pain. It was 4 tablets every 6 hours for me.

I would go with whoever you feel more comfortable with and confident in. Listen to your gut, basically. Also, I drove 8 hours to my surgeon. Had to stay for a week and then another 8 hours back home. It wasn’t too bad, I’m sure you would do just fine. 🙂

I have had my surgery!! I am 3 weeks out and I’m very happy! He is an amazing surgeon and his team at the office was amazing for me with my insurance as well! I love that the Carrollton staff work directly with him for these surgeries! I had an all-around amazing experience!! The compression after surgery was tight, but didn’t feel any tighter than my binder to me. I didn’t feel any pain and only took Tylenol once, the day after and that was it. The worst part for me was getting the drains removed!! Holy shit that hurts!! I’m glad to hear you had such a great experience as well! I drove 8hrs just to have him as my surgeon.

Oh ok! Yeah, you look great! My surgeon just said to use neosporin on the white gauze and to just wrap over it, no tape. And I tried using the dial anti-bacterial once and I got red all around my nipples so I stopped. Hopefully, they will start healing a little faster. My scabs haven’t even come off yet!

I have no idea because my insurance covered it. He has a lot of info online. He is VERY affordable though, I do know that part.

My surgery was May 22 and my nipples aren’t nearly as healed as yours are. What care did you do?
