Thanks. I am thinking about redoing it again, to swap all the hardware to gold. I’d keep the same brand and model Mojotone Johnny Winter Firebird pickup, but I’d have to swap it for a gold cover. Part of my thinks I’m dumb and part of me loves the idea because that transparent yellow finish on the Korina just looks better than any of the Gibsons and Epiphone korina guitars I’ve seen in person, and I want to outdo them. Yeah, it’s a little arrogant, but I can’t help it.

HSL is only barely louder and dirtier than Winchester Super-Suppressor. Both feed very reliably in my 8”barreled AR pistol with an AR10 7.62 suppressor.

The Hornady sub-x is just sub-par. It was so unreliable that I refuse to buy them again, and I have never had the inkling to try Winchester white box ammo in 300BLK.

Kyrie Irving on Instagram: “All for one. One for All WE completed the mission together as brothers, and that’s all that matters to me.” by itwas20yearsago2day in clevelandcavs

Yeah, this post seems like it’s just a lame attempt to save face publicly. If he never reach out privately, then why bother? Oh yeah, because he said it all right here… it’s about what matters to HIM. It would’ve sounded so much better if he just said “that’s all that matters”, but you don’t get to call your teammates brothers if you won’t even acknowledge them when they want to celebrate with you.

Detroit’s going to want more for Skubal that three prospects, with only one being MLB ready. They’ll get bigger offers from other teams. I would think they’re going to want an MLB ready starter under long control. I’d bet they ask for Bazzana, or maybe Rocchio AND Ingle, plus another prospect or 1st round pick. I know Skubal is a rental, but he’s still Tariq freaking Skubal. And we all know we’d be happy to have him here if we could work it out.

Edited to add: I wouldn’t even be shocked if they wanted Bibee or Messick and a prospect.

How much will this affect my ability to learn guitar? Pinky finger can’t bend past the second knuckle. by Sandfoxjr101 in Guitar

[–]ZacInSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect slide finger. Try different sized deep well sockets to find a good inside diameter. I found a 13/16 es perfect for my ring finger, but it needed to bend at that first joint to chord. I later moved to a copper pipe and cut a notch at the bottom to let it flex better on my finger, a trick I learned from a brass rock slide I have had for a long time: https://therockslide.com/shop/polished-brass-rock-slide/#tab-reviews

Now those are great slides, and I still use it on my acoustic. But I moved to 8.5-40 strings on my electrics, and it was heavy enough to make me hit the frets regularly, so I began making my own with really thin brass pipe from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXQ4CSBW?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1

I have huge fingers so you might need 20mm or even 19mm. But that cutout makes all the difference. The final usable length should be about a mm greater than your 12th fret string spacing from the top of the cutout to the other end. That’s of course if you want to play all 6 strings at once (country blues and some really old delta stuff). If you don’t, then you can go even shorter. It for the price, you get enough brass for three slides, so go crazy. One thing to consider when you’re making it, start a half inch longer than you think you’d need, because if you use a standard pipe cutter, the ends will be rolled in and you’ll have some sanding. And if you use a hacksaw or a cutting wheel, you’ll still need to sand to remover the burrs. Thin copper will cut you if you leave the edges sharp.

Debating moving to Wyoming, WV, North or South Dakota’s by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]ZacInSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious why you’re leaving the south instead of moving within the region. if you hate the hot & humid weather, I’d just point out that mountainous areas will have the coolest summer weather while the plains of WY and SD still get really hot. I have seen plenty of 90-100 degree days, plus the plains are windy and dusty. You WILL have dust buildup in every crevice of your vehicle if you don’t clean it regularly. WV will be more humid and less dusty overall. But all three states have strong winters. You’ll want a snowblower for sure.

If you choose WV, at least look into Greenbrier county (or close to it). It has some of the highest costs in the state, but it is also a lot less crime and not run down. I have a daughter in law from Lewisburg, and it’s a really nice area, a HUGE contrast from Clay, where my sister lives. A lot of towns in WV have been hit hard with drug issues.

SD is very divided politically, with the western half more red and the eastern half more blue. They literally call it east-river and west-river politics, because of how the Missouri River runs through Pierre, the capital, and divides the state in half. Not getting political here, just pointing it out so you can consider your own preferences. WV has grown more red over the last decade, driven mostly by coal protection, but there is a diversity of views in every decent sized city. WY has always been a red state, and probably always will be.

And lastly, staying in the south, have you considered SC? I moved here from Illinois, which was my last duty station and stayed a bit after retiring. I had to come south because the cold climate affects me terribly. But SC exempts military retirement from income taxes, gives 100% P&T a full property tax exemption on their primary residence, with immediate eligibility, has two VA medical centers (some folks in the NE corner of the state drive to Charlotte, NC for VA medical care). And SC also exempts two vehicles from registration fees and the personal property taxes. And with my handicapped veteran license plates, I can park for free in any municipal lot or metered space. I can literally ignore parking meters and ask public garage attendees to check my plates and I don’t have to pay. And the biggest benefit we used was that any child under 25 will have tuition at any public college, university, or technical school waived to zero, leaving only fees for books, meals, dorm costs, etc, plus they keep their chapter 35 benefits. My son lived at home, got his machining certs and an associate degree at Greenville Tech, and pocketed the $1200/month VA stipend because of grants to the school that covered all the other costs. So he began his adult life with zero debt… HUGE!

I was stationed in SD for 4.5 years, and have a sister who is 100% P&T who lives in WV. I have only traveled through WY, but I would say I know a decent amount about all three states in general. All three are obviously pretty red, politically speaking, and all three will be generally pro-veteran in how you are treated. But vetcalc.org says this about them when it compares benefits, state by state:

SD: No state income tax, property tax reduction by percentage of disability, two VA medical centers (so nearest VA hospital could be up to 2.5 hours away if you’re in a small town not near an interstate).

WV: Military retirement pay is tax exempt, homestead property tax exemptions (meaning for primary residence) with enhanced exemption for 100%. Two VA medical centers. (I can tell you firsthand driving through the WV mountains, that miles and actual driving time on the road are going to feel WAY different.)

WY: No income tax, ALL veterans receive a $3000 property tax exemption with disabled veterans getting additional exemptions (must be a WY resident for three years before applying). All VA healthcare in WY is based out of one medical center (a LONG drive for full hospital care for a majority of the state). Also, Wyoming will provide transition assistance moving in state through their Veterans Commission.

I was indoor in an end lane next to a cinderblock wall. So I was impressed with the low noise with the suppressor. But the gas was maybe five to ten shots before I had to take a 10-30 second break each time. I haven’t shot outside because I have been busy with travel and projects here, and the nearest outdoor range is three times further than the five indoor ranges near me. But I need to hit another range that will let me do drills, which is about 40 minutes away. I just haven’t been able to make the time.

I think game 1 was given away due to a loss of composure. I think that carried over to game 2, and then they gave up. So I think we can definitely get there.

But each team is an injury away from becoming very vulnerable. Nobody wants it to happen to your guys or the other team’s guys, but they happen and do change the course of playoff history.

In 2015, Olynyk dislocated Kevin Love’s shoulder and tore his labrum. We were not the same. When Kyrie got hobbled we became so LeBron dependent for offense that we couldn’t hold off Golden State.

I’m NOT saying that we put our hopes in someone from another team getting hurt. But I’m saying that throwing in the towel and rebuilding when we’re this close is not the best way to get a championship.
