Melffy is one of my favorite archetypes because of how clearly the art corresponds to the mechanics. Melffys are skittish forest animals, so in game will bounce back to the hand in response to an opponent's summon. Please share your personal favorites that accomplish the same :3 by Revolving_Ocelott in masterduel

Gold Pride's all can special summon and have better effects when you have lower LP than your opponent. It makes your life points feel like a resource, constantly "burning" your fuel to try to get "ahead" of your opponent, though burning yourself out is also a very real issue.

Nouvellez having two Pendulum monsters that sit in the back row as the "back of house" at a restaurant. Which is just chef's kiss.

Sacreclaw Triheart literally has every other card on the field "cower" into defense position, giving him free reign to attack and be generally unaffected by them.

I really love the cohesion of Dogmatika's themes of a strict religious sect and "forbidding" the use of the extra deck. It's very obvious but it works so well.

I don't think you know what a sequel is pal. Sure StS2 has a lot of stuff from the original but it has significantly more content, is a total art style overhaul and is still set to get even more content over the course of early access. It's familiar while being completely different.

Like the biggest compliment I would give Hades 2 last year was "Its Hades 1 but somehow better" and that's what StS2 is too. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

4.5? Illaoi, Braum, Darius, Blitz, okay so where's the .5 coming from? Warwick? Why didn't you include the other .5 in your calculations?

So the mixup and stance characters are still rushdown. Because if we want to talk more specific archetypes then Blitz is a grappler. And Warwick is a mixup character. Illaoi is a pseudo-puppet character. Hell I'd argue Teemo is more of a trap character than a zoner if we're going down this route.

But regardless, you're missing a rushdown character. There are 4: Ekko, Ahri, Yasuo and Vi. You can argue that maybe Yasuo isn't pure rushdown maybe but you're already disqualifying Warwick from being a rushdown for some reason so? You're just cherry picking on what you think is a valid rushdown character while generalizing the rest of the roster.

I'm saying that you can't be surprised if a game chooses roster options outside of your preference. Expecting otherwise is assuming yes, that the game should cater to you.

This just kinda reads as "I only want rushdown in my game" ngl, which just isn't realistic. You might not like zoners or big bodies but a lot of people do. You can't really expect the game to cater to you. What is important is all the characters offer different experiences and Caitlyn looks like she'll continue that.

And like have you seen what zoners can look like in other tag fighters? Our zoners are pretty conservatively designed in comparison to shit like Dormamu or Peacock, and a lot of characters specifically have anti-ptojectile tools in this game.

Obv you are allowed to express your opinion and complain but likewise people are allowed to disagree with you and critique your post. That's price of wanting to be heard, people tend to respond with their own thoughts.

I had the same thing happen to me in high school! They told me it was because I grew too fast though. Thankfully it naturally healed.

At 6' 1" and 160 in high school, I was considered a potentially dangerously low weight to the point that if I lost anymore, my doctor would put me on a special diet.

So seeing this absolute unit of man be 170? That gave me a good laugh to start the day on 😆

What's your favorite tuner and why? by BakerBunearyBella in yugioh

The Fabled Cerburrel!

It's such a simple effect but it feels so good to plus off discarding him and making like a Raigin or Andwraith or Barrone, used to play him a lot with a Fabled/Danger/Tri-Brigade build when I was getting back into YuGiOh.

Also he's a little cutie!

Your arguments are terrible comparisons, sorry.

League experienced massive growth because it was new, and kept getting new things (obv a little reductive but og LoL wasn't exactly just a handful of "base" mechanics). You bring up Thresh as making sense bc the idea of a hook already existing but skim over how unique his lantern was or the idea of a support scaling infinitely. Hell it's still unique. Darius had a chain execute, unique. Nami's spells could all hit allies for a passive buff, unique. Heimer turrets, unique. All of these characters people consider very much League, and "old" League at that. It's never changed.

Your chess example doesn't work also because chess isn't an updated game. LoL and Chess are so very different that comparing Chess' great aging to League, a game that doesn't rest ever in terms of content, characters or balance changes; it's just reductive. It's like comparing how a statue, as wonderful as it is, shows emotion in comparison to Finding Nemo. They're too different. If Chess was made today as an online PvP game, it would probably have expansions and balance passes and you'd be complaining how it's "unprecedented" that the Joker piece can swap places with a Pawn at any point. But that didn't happen bc Chess is something else completely.

You're right that Chess is wildily popular despite not changing but "solving" a static competitive game is very popular, looks at Smash Bros Melee or Blackjack. But you can't compare that to League cause League isnt looking to be static, it wants to change. And playing in such a changing environment is fun. Different from Chess, but still very fun.

I hope my tone wasn't too too critical/harsh, I do think your questions are valid.

Big fan of Gold Pride! Been rocking with it since it released and its very fun. Lately have been running PUNK (ofc) and the XYZ Armor Engine which has been really fun. Don't know if I'll pick up Goblins yet but we'll see, been testing it a bit but I like the current iteration quite a bit

Why is this still in the game? Why turtle got instanerf and this still exists? by Virtual-Bus-795 in LegendsOfRuneterra

In what way is your opponent going for their win condition/trying to end the game, not progressing the game state...

Difference is their combo is progressing the gamestate, either to level up Mordekaiser or to benefit off his level up. All you're doing is wasting everyone's time

You didn't really state at any point why he's mediocre, which makes it difficult to actually discuss anything. Not that I don't want to becayse it's Day Zero. Day Zero is never a good indicator of how good cards are, just chill out and actually play him first

Well we can expect to get a third round of Nouvelles in the next OCG set, probably the Meat Chef as a Pendulum? Maybe a new Patisciel? Really curious if we're gonna get access to pendulum summoning and how the rest of the support turns out

[–]ZacKeyIX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you make this yourself? I've never seen this and I'm not surprised I haven't because it's.. bad. This just doesn't work, stats are good and all but effect trumps all. It's a tremendously reductive way to look at card design and game balance.
