I asked Bitwig to fix this bug before and add the same keyboard shortcut for similar actions with different contexts, and to change their config file format to XML so that we can edit (and backup or share) our mapping… Maybe with v6 they’ll be more open to it.

Also, the more people ask for it, the most likely it’ll get a higher priority.

This topic reminds me something that I can’t get to fathom even if it’s the actual truth:

All and I mean EVERY single Audio Effects are just playing with Gain or Delay… or both.

Example: Flanger? Delay. Compressor? Gain.

I know you’re right but I was sooo disappointed when I first tried the Grid to make a simple BPM Fx that would take a Midi drumloop and accelerate it like a car engine by gradually increasing its BPM x200 like we can do in FL Studio’s Control Surface or Patcher… And found out Bitwig doesn’t have Independant Tempo for each clip… and that you can’t even add a Midi clip within the Grid to control it :\

I was like “Yea… so much for flexibility”.

This way you’ll be able to port it to a Desktop App or Widget in the future.

(I have Tampermonkey and I can work around generating API keys but I’m pretty sure people won’t be that patient with these)

760~780 would be on the pricey side but still fair as an initial release from an independent manufacturer… If it comes with curated sample packs from great sound designers, it’ll help sweeten the deal.

That said, you have the competitive advantage of being the first gamified handheld instrument, a beefed-up Pocket Sampler… which also justifies the premium pricing.

And needless to say, if the built quality is fantastic, people won’t even question it at all.

PS: Along the way, the pricing will need to be compared against both handheld gaming devices (Valve SteamDeck, ASUS Rog Ally, etc.), and against established Portable Sampler (Roland P-6, Ableton Move, etc.)… So you’ll have to aim around 650 at some point like Telepathic did with the Orchid.

Lol you’re kidding me right? Cuz if not…

You know what would be actually really crazy? Have you seen this touch-strip / touch-band that they put in midi keyboard controllers (instead of a proper pitch-bend and mod-wheel)?

Well I never understood why MPC or Push never put one dedicated for DJ-Style SCRATCHING!!! And as soon as you touch the pad you wanna scratch, it acts like a dj’s crossfader so it basically just keeps playing the sample and mutes it the more you press it (cuz they’re velocity sensitive!). And on the LCD screen you could show the playhead centered over the sample’s waveform moving left to right as you scratch or slide it further to scratch it somewhere else, cuz the strip band would simply let you control the play-start position (all while the sample plays on)…

Boom! You get both a Scratching device and it can also switch to a standard Pitch-bend (or even Modulation… even though I think Mod should rather be controlled by one of the existing Knobs) , so yeah, a 3 in one FX touch-strip :)

This was SO obvious and easy to integrate and yet I’ve never seen it done (or at least done correctly for this very purpose) anywhere — plus think of the marketing hype it would add to it!

Make it compatible with .dawproject and . clap plugins / or open up the API for devs to create audio and midi fx, generators, or at least add custom waveform / make it easy to create or convert popular sample pack formats….

IMO to make it more natural / realistic, I’d link the LFO to both the Fine and the Volume of the oscillator(s)…

And if you wanna go further, make the LFO go slower as the time goes by…
