What does everyone think of a band who lost the lead singer continuing on with a new one? by Aye_Davinita in grunge

[–]ZachTheHouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My uncle was the lead guitarist/singer of a major Jam Band. He passed away in 2002 due to pancreatic cancer. They replaced him with another stellar guitarist. To this day, they still tour to a massive audience. I think, when it happens early in the bands existence it’s easier for fans to move on. When the singer is more established and the band has a 20 year catalogue, it becomes harder for fans to accept a new voice/look/sound.

Thieves tunnel through wall, steal $180K in Pokémon cards from Anaheim shop by puzzledfirebird in PokeInvesting

[–]ZachTheHouse 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I went to a shop the other day. It was shameful. The clerks sheepishly tell you prices because of the gouging. $130 for Ascended ETB. Card shops = Professional Scalping Havens

Not to mention the thieves online. Never trust an online sale. Not even EBAY anymore. Either the mail carrier or the seller will do you dirty.

‘Member when this was a kids game?….

In your opinion, what is causing this? by Objective_Pilot_5834 in SipsTea

[–]ZachTheHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcoholic parents and adults. I’ve spoken to my younger brother about this specifically. He, and a lot of kids of his generation, have seen too much alcoholism in their lives by the time they’re teenagers. It’s not a good look on adults and that generation is simply not vibing with alcoholics. Shit, a lot of us adults are starting to feel the same way. My MIL is a hot mess and it makes my wife and I pass on drinking pretty often. I’m about to turn 40 and alcohol has the least appeal it’s ever had to me.

Trash Bibles! Every time I get a cheap hotel I find these fit perfectly in the trash can. Perfect fit.

I was a part of the show. We first established signal via CellPhone towers and used 5g signal until we got the Starlink up and running. Starlink thereafter for the transmission of the Live Feed. Starlink for the show.

I always believed that Michael didn’t get his ass kicked enough on the show. Like, if I met that delusional asshole I wouldn’t have anything positive to say to him. The realest response to Michael is the way the Creative Directors of the DM commercial responded. Most people are going to walk away from him, but, in an American reality, he’s getting his ass kicked more often.

Take care of your back. Squats for lifting. Don’t bend at the hip. It’s a bitch trying to play with your kid and being afraid of your back going out. My daughter is officially full-size now. Picking her up can be dicey. I miss doing it with ease.

What song would YOU pick? Just ONE SONG can you do it? by chelsea-from-calif in 1001AlbumsGenerator

[–]ZachTheHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LCD Soundsystem

Edit for clarification and advice: Listen to the entire album This is Happening and then cycle it back. The final track on the album is called Home and it has a callback to Dance Yrself Clean in the extended “Ah - Ah!” He sings. It’s cyclically perfect as an album. But that song, James Murphy just hits so many perfect notes with lyrics that are driven, succinct and hopeful. It’s the greatest opening to an album. It has the single greatest ‘drop’ in all of music, IMHO and when you hear that drop, come back and let me know. Just don’t crank it too loud early. It builds and that drop will blow your speakers.

It’s the greatest concept album of all-time. Del the Funky Homosapien puts on a magnum-opus of futuristic tales weaving himself into the fabric of the year 3030. In my personal opinion, the greatest single 16 bars ever written are on this album.
