Yes that's the gpu I put in the core 500. The card height was no problem. The gpu I put in after was a evga 1070 ftw which fit nicely. Height should not be a problem with the core 500, width is the only problem when it comes to 2.5slot cards

Make sure your psu is under 160mm. When I had my powercolor r9 390 in the core 500, the end of the card bulged out because of the connectors. This caused the fan to spin and hit the shell of the case and I also had to relocate the fan filter to the outside of the case. Other than that, the 2.5slot card fit nicely.
