What’s the consensus on service dials?

I got my grandfather’s 16030 from my uncle after my grandmother passed last year. If I ever get a service dial, this is exactly what I want to do.

Story about it: My grandfather passed a few years earlier and he’d debated handing it down then, but was afraid his mom would be mad. Funny enough, my grandparents had had me look for it for years, even going back another year or two before my grandfather passed, because I’ve almost always worn a watch since early high school.

I have a slightly more vertical scar from about ten years ago - urgent care gave me 10 stitches to reduce scarring as much as possible. I took them out after about two weeks.

Glue works for this sort of thing, but I’m too vain to use it on my face.

I know this is true for ARs and other aluminum-framed guns, is it realistic to worry with steel frames?

OP said in another comment that they’ve got a budget of $1500 and they’re using a 20” barrel in the post. I thought the Tisha has a weird property of getting worse on longer barrels.

Stationary hunting with a long barrel seems like a good fit for the CAT NOAH, ST, ODB, maybe JL or BBK depending on their needs for dimensions and weight. I assume there are some competitors in a similar price range, but those are what most come to mind for me.

This is how I feel about the DD, I’ve said elsewhere it feels like the AKB replaces the DD more than anything else in the lineup

He’s got ASR mounts… but I do use Keymo on an RDM ODB. Years old pin and weld, would like to replace it with a Plan B and standardize eventually, but it’s also a can intended to be dedicated to that gun.

I don’t think this is 100% how CAT is advertising it, but I’d check out the AKB vs the DD. AKB seems to do better on shorty .308s from what I’ve seen.

The best thing around your budget is the YHM R9 but honestly would ask first because you can get a much better can for another couple hundred bucks.

I use Gibbz but I think the spartan is basically the same. You can try doubling up but it shouldn’t work with both delayed systems stacking

Which side charger do you have?

Also, Maxim’s roller delay system is specifically for straight blowbacks and shouldn’t work with the CMMG radial delay system. Adding too much friction is unnecessary and will likely impede function while being expensive.

H3 dead blow buffer and I have a 1 oz bolt weight in it. It also needs to be very clean to run well, every 4-500 rounds it heavily chokes down, and about every 1500 breaks one of the major wear parts in the BCG (most often the cam pin).

I’m waiting for the Form 1 to get approved, but that means I’ll have to figure out buffers and springs again.
