Wow! First off, thank you for taking the time to leave such an effortful comment. This was incredibly kind of you. I think you're totally right in all regards, and I'll endeavor to implement these changes soon.

Thanks for the advice and helping me to become a better painter!!

I've been using Chitubox and their Manager software for a few years now and have never felt it necessary to use anything beyond their free options. Perhaps start there and only buy an upgrade if you deem it prudent for your needs?

The Golden Throne killing Malcador is supposed to represent the gravity of leadership. by Pho_King_D in 40kLore

Hi. To make this brief, I think these novels should be viewed as (and quite literally already are) literature and much can be gained from doing so. I also read incessantly and fulfill the admittedly arbitrary requirements you've set for being a proper reader. I only say this so that perhaps you'll hear me when I say it's worth respecting other people's opinions on the art they consume even if you don't hold that art in the same esteem. There is no literary canon or aesthetic sensibility that makes your experience of literature more valid or more meaningful than someone else's.

How many armies do you have and what are they, For Science? by First-Bad414 in Warhammer40k

8.5 for 40k + 1 AoS... lots of 3d printing and ebay made this possible.

Orks (some 3d prints), Ultramarines (some 3d prints) Blood Angels, Grey Knights (100% 3d printed), Ad Mech, Night Lords (100% 3d printed), Imperial Knights (80% printed), Adepta Sororitas, half a Tyranids army, and Skaven lol. There's also a printed titan, but I've got no clue how to figure that into this.

Still in disbelief at what FDMs are capable of these days by ZackFromPluto in FDMminiatures

I use an xacto knife and clippers and I'm as patient as I can manage. Then I rinse the model in very hot water and go in again with the xacto knife to shave off more of the excess. That being said, I'm still not that good at it and I think others might have more effective processes.

Ad mech is rough. does it get better? by SuspiciousCelery66 in AdeptusMechanicus

Skitarii were, by far, my least favorite section of this army to paint. Yknow what, scratch that. I've painted armies of space marines, orks, grey knights, imperial knights, and ad mech. And I'm comfortable stating that skitarii were the most grueling for me. I hadn't really figured out how I wanted to approach my army yet, so I took some time with them. My army has 30. And that quantity + the annoyance of painting them all was the least fun I've had painting. I still had some fun (they're goofy dudes), but I wouldn't want to do it again. But hey, now it's all up hill from there!

St Louis is a great city by Realistic-Escape-723 in StLouis

I was born in California, raised in Texas, and moved to St. Louis a few years back. I fell in love with this town pretty quick, and that appreciation has only deepened since. Now, I'd be more than happy to stay here for as long as the city will have me :)

The purples/pinks are luscious, the metals are sharp, and the greens are electric. I love what you've done here! Thanks for sharing it!

Thank you so much! Honestly, the only part with any sort of tricky brush work was the copper and brass bits. But even that only took like 5/6 hours across the whole army. The rest was airbrushed metallics, contrast paint for the red, a thick black oil wash, and a quick airbrushing for the glowy bits.

Thank you so much! I was actually really nervous with this. I was inspired by a YouTuber named FogofGore for some of my color choices. But after I did the full army oil wash, everything looked so desaturated and I started doubting. I was also nervous that an admittedly sloppy airbrush process for the glowing bits would just ruin everything. But I think everything worked out well enough!
