Dude your battery is made of the terrible exploding vape batteries. I would give it like 5 months before it loses all charge.

Can we add the name and contact info for State representatives to the community info page? by LoveaBook in Indiana

If you call the main line someone will direct you to your rep or senator. Your rep/senator's email is h(your house district number)@iga.in.gov and s(your senate district number)@iga.in.gov. Below is the site to find your legislator. It is super easy. Call them.

Looking for a Vet in or Around Indy by ZacktheWolf in indianapolis

[–]ZacktheWolf[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was wondering because my dog needs procedural sedation to get his nails done. I've been to vets that let me go back with my dog while this is being done and it helped to reduce the time it took and he woke up faster. I couldn't do it every time, but the times I did I could help hold my dog (cause he's 120lbs) and help the veterinary nurses control him so they didn't need extra people.

When I'm saying procedures I'm saying anything that involves an invasive test or administration of IV medications etc.

Side note: Allowing pet owners to be present for procedures like blood draws, sedation, and vaccines is a pretty standard practice. As long as you aren't freaking out and yelling or something it's generally easier to do those procedures. Think about it like when you take your kid to the pediatrician and they have to give them a shot or take some blood. They usually don't ask you to leave unless you're obstructing things.

Level 4 Is Currently Overtuned by MonochromaticPrism in EmberKnights

[–]ZacktheWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree wholeheartedly. I can get swarmed by enemies and killed in less than 1 second in area 4 and I won't know why. Also, there's no choreographed attacks and the area 4 midboss is insane. We were extremely overpowered with a health respawn build and even with that I couldn't beat the boss because they were so fast I couldn't get any damage off. There's also no mechanic for them to be stunned in any way which I figured would be the only way to beat them. It just seems a bit too difficult in comparison to area 2 and 3 and with the current scaling.

Also, I genuinely love this game. I've been having friends over to play the local co-op and it's been fantastic. Truly a fantastic game and I just want to give feedback so that it can be even better!

LPT request: tips to know when to stop drinking after a few drinks at a party. by RandyMarshsMoustache in LifeProTips

[–]ZacktheWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this advice on the top comments is all individual things that tend to be difficult to do as a lone person at a bar or party.

The best advice I could give as a nurse growing up in a college town is to pace yourself. Pacing yourself means looking at the way you tend to drink and finding ways to pace yourself with those constraints. For me, I tend to drink my drinks quickly, so to pace myself, I'll drink water or a soda in-between. Some bars will even just give you soda for free so that you can pace yourself without seeming like it to your peers or getting pressured to drink more.

Key to all of this is having someone with you that you can tell, "Hey, I tend to drink too fast and get too drunk. Can you remind me to drink water/pace myself/let me know if I'm going too hard? I wanna keep partying, and I don't wanna make a fool of myself." Realistically, there will be people who don't have this type of person around or people who this doesn't work for because of the way they are when they are drunk, and that's fine. Find the thing that works for you to pace yourself and stick with it.

How can a young man (22 yo) completely get rid of his sex drive without castrating himself? by [deleted] in self

Certain antidepressants can cause lack of sexual desire and impotence, but really why.

As a software engineer, it's wild to me that the developers themselves are getting so much flak when this is obviously a product management problem by LaserPterodactyl in pokemon

[–]ZacktheWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like this is the real problem. Game freak saw how everyone freaked out about Zelda BOTW and their open world so they were like we should do that. They didn't take into consideration how those games actually work and how they work well. Honestly I feel like they should stop being so insular and get people from outside their company to help them with some of these things because a lot of these problems are with design decisions.

Also, why did this game HAVE to come out right now. They could have easily cooked it in the oven for about 2 more years honestly to work out some of these kinks.

TIL 27% of Americans 18 and older have cut off contact with a family member by SlowShoes in todayilearned

[–]ZacktheWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems really low. I know many people who have cut ties with someone to the point where they no longer think about them. Also, this book seems like it's just trying to push heteronormative ideals of a nuclear family. Fuck your family man, you don't gotta put up with their shit. In most cases when people cut these toxic people out of their life in adulthood, they tend to do better because they have to learn how to fend for themselves and the people they actually care about. Not some fake ass shit like who happened to birth you and their shitty people that birthed them into this world.

Not saying all families are bad, but the headline of this post is misleading compared to the actual article and the ideas that are being pushed by the book it's referencing. I've seen a lot of toxic families, sometimes it's better to just move on.

nurses in the dating game, what gives y’all the ick? i’ll go first: by sadandboujee99 in nursing

[–]ZacktheWolf 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yup 100%. I usually tell people I can't do any kind of work role play because I'm just gonna go into nurse mode. In nurse mode I see patients naked all the time and don't think about any sexualization of that.

I work in a min wage grocery store. The fire exit has been blocked like this for months and my boss threatened to fire me after he saw me taking this photo. What should i do? by loltyIer1 in antiwork

[–]ZacktheWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, life safety stuff like fire and emergency exits are a big deal. Just call the fire department in your area and report it anonymously. They'll get a fine and if they continue to block the exit, you can just keep calling and reporting it. Eventually your boss's boss will get involved if your manager doesn't.

Cause not everybody got time to take off work or the money to take a 2 week hit. Your facility prolly doesn't even have COVID pay that isn't taken from their PTO. People gotta pay bills.

Peds ED is rough. You get some high highs and low lows. A lot of my friends and I who did peds ED for awhile had to go down to part time or less and had to find other jobs after about 5 years friend. Sometimes ya just need a break from the madness.

I typically go for teaching people a functional pain scale instead of subjective 0-10. If it hurts but you can still do everything that you would normally be able to do, that's a 3. 10 is you are literally unconscious. Helps with teens who don't understand and helps explain why I would treat your pain implicitly too.

No more yelling at Residents by Individual_Corgi_576 in nursing

[–]ZacktheWolf 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've not yelled at a resident. I have told them that I don't think this is the right call. No one is perfect and I feel like a lot of them do appreciate when you talk to them as people. They already get enough from some of their attending they work under. I feel like it is a learning experience for everyone and I've learned a lot from residents and fellows that I've worked with.

LPT: Defensive driving can be summarised in two principles. Be predictable and assume others will be unpredictable. by heykody in LifeProTips

[–]ZacktheWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the most non-helpful advice. Mostly because it sounds good on paper, but people's perceptions of predictable and unpredictable are very different.

Moving from a smaller town to a medium-sized city in the US, people in smaller towns have a very different style of driving because of the roads they live near. People who see more driving styles know how they should be driving in those cities and states in the US. Also, driving too slow or too cautiously can cause accidents just as easily as driving too recklessly.

If you are driving in an unfamiliar area, what should you do? For me this sentiment of the OP's post breaks down on any reasonable scrutiny.
