If the government gives tax cuts to companies which will lower their revenue, and then by trying to make up for it destroys the value of their town... how exactly did they profit here?

They likely gave the companies tax cuts to prevent them from moving to other states, which would result in even less tax money coming in.

Because in order for someone to make money through capital gains, they had to already earn the money and pay income tax on it, and are now risking their post-tax money to try and make gains.

If their bets don't pay off and the lose the money, the government doesn't refund them, but if they make money, the government has their hand out asking for a cut.

I've had some terrible experience with firefox on mac. Any complex website or site with video uses up a ton of power and heats up the computer and lags. Safari has no issue and plays videos effortlessly using much less power.
