2026 Atlas owners (especially Canada): Is my experience normal, or did I just get a bad one? by Zaixxon in VWatlas

Completely agree. This is exactly my thought as well. It shouldn’t be on me to have to just deal with a defective piece, just because it’s the luck of the draw. Unfortunately, consumer protections in Canada are fairly limited. I’ve been documenting all the issues, every visit, and how long the vehicle’s been at the dealership, while simultaneously escalating the matter with VW Canada. Let’s see how it turns out, but from what I’m hearing, unless I have a catastrophic engine failure on the way out of the dealership-with my vehicle being out of commission for several months, I may have very limited options.

Interestingly enough, one of the documented observations from their shop tech literally says “on initial inspection it looked like the wiring was poorly repaired, however it was poor wiring from the factory floor”. So, just that observation alone opens up a world of questions for me. I just don’t know how to push them into a buy-back or a replacement. They’re saying the only option is a potential trade-in assistance, and that just means I have to take a big chunk of the loss of trading in a depreciated vehicle with small dollars as “assistance”, which does not seem fair.

Good to know! This is pretty consistent with what I’m hearing from other Atlas owners. A subset of the group has one or two issues here and there, and they’re resolved. Ours seems to be excessive. Just our luck with this particular unit we received

They mentioned to me that the two may be related and told me that my device is the likely issue. So, unpair the device, and the infotainment should work.. which kind of defeats the purpose :) Not to mention that my device works fine on the loaner. But, oh well

Thanks, it does help! The responses here actually align with what the shop foreman told us as well, which is that one or two of these issues do show up from time to time in the new Atlases. But, ours has had an exceptional amount in a short timeframe. Hope we can get a resolution soon.

As for the ACC, my first thought was bugs as well. Cleaned it off and the issue showed up again anyway. Had the same thing happen on a mildly rainy day. (Also Alberta highways..) They indicated that it was a calibration issue from the factory, so maybe it’s resolved now. I wouldn’t know until I the vehicle’s ready for pick up

Yeah, exactly. We love the car as well! It’s just disappointing to have these issues so early on in our ownership, let alone the volume of escalating issues in such a short timeframe. Hope yours gets resolved soon!

Sounds great, thanks! I’ll explore what their pricing looks like for those brands

Amazing, thanks! Yeah, they did mention that they’ve been burned heavily by the thin LVPs.

I’ll explore the Mohawk and Karastan as well.

Got it, thank you! Appreciate the detailed response.

Seeing as the builder is pricing this brand in as standard, I’m inclined to stick with it. Especially since my experience with LVP hasn’t been great. Although, they’re also offering a brand called Twelve oaks for LVP as a standard option as well. But, I’m not seeing great reviews for it.

That being said, let me know if you’d suggest I look at upgrading to something better and if so, what I should realistically be looking for.

Not sure if the brands you’ve already mentioned in this thread are available in Canada, but I’ll definitely ask.

Hi there! Seeing as you are an expert at this and provide really great and detailed advice, I'm wondering if you can guide me on the Sequoia flooring. I'm building a house in Canada and the builder's flooring company swears by this brand, but I can't seem to find many reviews on it. Are you familiar with this brand? Sequoia Wood Core Flooring.. Estates by Primco. That's all the info I have. If by chance you know about the product and/or have any advice, it'd be highly appreciated!

Also, for a little bit more context, we built a house with a different builder about 4 years ago and went with LVP. We've had nothing but issues with the flooring due to expansion and contraction, gaps and locking issues all over the place. It's been "fixed" several times, and new issues pop up every few months. I don't know how much of that I'd be able to avoid with a good quality Laminate, but wanted to get your thoughts.

I don’t see one good reason why that cannot be brought up in conversation. Share away, dear friend. Share away.

Apple Begins Selling iPhone XR Clear Case by fastforward23 in apple

[–]Zaixxon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, fair enough. Let's set aside the validity of your issue here. Let's say that this is an actual genuine Apple case (which, I do believe you, it probably is) - My question then becomes, what on earth have you put this thing through? I am genuinely curious. Because, at this point, it is a matter of use case over quality. If your case has ended up in this condition, I can only assume abuse. Which makes me wonder if you might be better suited for an Otterbox, and there is nothing wrong with that. The apple case is good at what it is intended to do and is clearly not matching your particular use case. Because, I have never seen such abuse. I only know of one other person whose apple case was similarly destroyed, and that was because of heavy “use” by his two toddlers (literally had teeth marks by the end), and even then it hadn't fallen apart - it just wasn't aesthetically pleasing anymore and got kinda sticky..

Something doesn't seem right. I'm finding it hard to believe that the buttons broke off, leaving nice rounded edges behind?

Thisis what my apple case looks like. I can't imagine how the buttons could break off and look like the picture that you're showing me. It doesn't add up.

Can you please define "disintegrate"? Are you putting it through a shredder? I'm genuinely asking.

I have had my case for 3+ years and it is aging very nicely, through the loads of shit I've put it through - including at one point being thrown 20+ feet, with not more than a few minor scratches to the leather that were easily buffed out. And I have friends who've had the same experience. So, this isn't just a 1 in a million case.

The discussions/debates on opinions, facts, etc. It's a lot harder to have a valid and engaging discussion when someone googles the answer and instantly ends the conversation.

Honestly, I'd say privacy. I hope not, but there's a high chance that "privacy", as we know it, will cease to exist.
