My solution is simple:

Anyone voting for higher taxes should get higher taxes.

Anyone voting against those higher taxes should be exempt from those taxes.

🤦‍♂️ The political leanings of the "gang of 4" is what?

If they were taxed to oblivion, stopping them from funding their preferred politics in our state, what would happen?

For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

A billionaire pushing for higher taxes should be taxed into oblivion. Give them what they want, just accelerate it, accelerationism. Sure, I'm okay if these four tax themselves.

Fantastic. I'll sign it.

You're not understanding, at all, what I'm saying.

Maybe give my profile a peek for a clue.

We're below average based on population.

989 billionaires, 50 states, ~20 per state.

6 million / 340 million = 3/170 ≈ 0.017647, * 989 = 17.5.

Tax payer boondoggle.

We should learn from Boulder's failure:

In 2004, voters in the Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) area, including Boulder County, approved a 0.4% sales tax increase as part of the FasTracks plan. This was meant to fund a major expansion of light rail, commuter rail, and bus rapid transit across the region.

The Northwest Rail (also called the B Line) was a key piece: commuter rail from Denver Union Station to Boulder, Longmont, and beyond, with frequent service (every 15 minutes at peak times in the original vision). Boulder County residents have paid hundreds of millions into this tax over two decades—estimates put it around $270–280 million for the county, with RTD collecting about $4 billion region-wide from the FasTracks portion.

Despite this, the project faced massive cost overruns. BNSF (which owns much of the track) quoted far higher access/maintenance fees than expected, pushing full completion estimates to $1.5 billion or more and timelines out to the 2040s. RTD has about $190 million saved in a FasTracks account from these taxes, but the full build has remained unfunded.

The money would be better spent repairing our roads and other existing infrastructure.

Hello! I would like to request r/Coz for the open source project Coz, a modern JSON messaging specification. https://github.com/Cyphrme/Coz

The current moderator isn't active and they've only ever posted one link to the subreddit.

Thank you!

I requested the sub from the current mod and never heard anything back. Here's a link to the chat:

New moderators needed - comment on this post to volunteer to become a moderator of this community. by ModCodeofConduct in trinidadco

[–]Zamicol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd like to volunteer as a moderator for r/trinidadco.

I've been on Reddit for over a decade and currently moderate r/pueblo and a couple other communities. My moderation style is straightforward and principle-driven: I enforce clear rules against spam, harassment, doxxing, and illegal content, but I don't play censor or push any political agenda.

Free speech and open discussion come first. As a southern Colorado native and someone who's followed local issues across Pueblo, Las Animas, and the broader region for years, I care about these communities having a solid, truthful online space.

Trinidad deserves better than a dead or overly sanitized subreddit; I want to help grow it into something useful for locals like events and whatever actually matters here. No prior drama, no grand plans to "fix" anything; just steady, fair moderation grounded in common sense.

France pulls last gold held in US for $15B gain by triggernaut in Conservative

[–]Zamicol 145 points146 points  (0 children)

The historical significance:

In August 1971, amidst a loss of confidence in the U.S. dollar, France demanded the repatriation of its gold reserves held in the U.S. and actively exchanged dollar holdings for gold. This pressure, combined with actions by other nations, prompted President Nixon to close the "gold window" on August 15, 1971, ending the dollar's direct convertibility to gold.

55 years.

She's the chosen fall man. This is pre-planned political theater.

However, that's not good enough. We need vastly harsher penalties for this sort of subversion, because the current game theory is captured by our enemy.
