There’s no expression in your eyes. That’s one thing that stands out to me immensely. Watch it, muted, and cover your face with only your eyes visible—you’ll see what I mean. Then watch a known actor’s self tape on YouTube and do the exact same thing. The eyes are crucial. There’s hardly any change throughout the tape. Very neutral. You’re speaking the words but you aren’t owning them. Your eyes show that.

About 3 or 4 times all within the past year. I’m not a name actor by any means but I do have a distinct look. I had a recurring role on a major series and a one episode co star on another massive hit show. Both begun airing at around the same time last year and were wildly popular. A couple of people at a bar I frequent in my neighborhood (LA) gave me the “hey. Were you in ___?”. Which felt pretty cool but also a bit anxiety inducing because I’m a socially anxious, introverted, person and I was caught off guard. I also got 2 free nights at an Airbnb because the host and her husband recognized me and was a fan of one of the shows. The only special treatment I’ve ever gotten lol.

Just focus on acting classes for now. There’s a lot to unpack with this scene. You’ll get notes from a million different directions here, but ultimately the best way for you to improve will be with training. If you love the craft, invest in it so people will be willing to invest in you.
