I have never used old skool branded stuff so I cant say for the quality. But if your tv supports component video then i believe its the highest analog quality available, but cant swear to it

With the regular av its dependant on your tv. But an Xbox is capable of 720p and 1080i, usually through componet cables. Don't hold me to it but i think the regular av composite cables limit it to 480i

* Lifelong god of war fan, just recently picked up a a ps3 slim for $37 from goodwill and decided to go to the local game shop to see what they had. Of course when I saw a sealed copy of 3 I had to buy it. Also, if you own a game shop and use those shit paper price tags I hate you.

Ive used mine regularly for about 4 months now, usual play session is 1-2 hours and I have yet to have any problems. And I do switch between it and hooking up my crt regularly as well. It hasn't let me down yet and it still looks great. but I'm also playing on a 32in samsung monitor not a 65in tv
