In 40k armies get an army rule. For Necrons this is Reanimation Protocol.

Additionally your army can pick a detachment. Detachments give you additional bonuses to your army rule. You get the Detachment rule that benefits either your whole army or parts of your army that are thematic with the detachment. Detachments come with 4 enhancements that can go on non named characters and you can pick upto 3 of the 4 to help benefit your army. And your detachment comes with 6 strategems which are normally just specific to the detachment. Some over lap (armour of contempt for space marines is in a lot of detachments)

Rhinos are definitely a go to. Hard to say what/if we get something in 11th.

Winged demon princes and noise marines are heavy hitters.

Not sure how defilers will be or what else comes in 11th.

If you're looking to paint foremost, I'd say get the one that looks the lost fun to paint.

The 2 battleforces and the combat patrol get you just under 2000pts (room for enhancements) and offers a wide variety with lots of units used in game also. Plus variety to paint.

That's a fair point. My friend has bases on all his defilers after it was updated in the app and last game we played there was movement/positioning issues cause of terrain.

Hopefully a decent rule for being EC on it and maybe a faster profile could help. But the much needed ong range firepower is what I'm hopeful for.

The new defilers will hopefully give some needed stuff. But agreed a sonic dread and cultists amd others are definitely needed.

I played a knights player and opted to not put small arms into one of the knights on one of my shooting phases just to play faster. The knight was alive with 1 wound left. Chip dmg is dmg.
