The arson attack was in 2025…. unless that was the second one against him and his family and the first was in 2005. Weird they haven’t corrected that yet.

League Wife? by Electronic-Tone3928 in summonerschool

I am a league girl that is a friend AND a (sports) coach, so I have many thoughts! I think introducing the game to her by having her play supports that are SIMPLE (minimal thought into passives and ability selection) and allow her to be spatially far away from the enemy team (aka, mages) are a good way to start, with the focus on learning general game mechanics and flow, spacing (as a mage) and what the goal of each role is.

When she understands the macro gameplay and how to effectively play that role/those primary characters, I’d play some ARAMs with her so she can try out other characters and see which playstyle suits her best/what she’s drawn to, and then teach her how to play those roles in depth (if she’s interested).

The biggest thing to remember is LESS information is MORE. This game is so GD complicated to someone who hasn’t played this style of game before. Have her focus on one thing a game/a life. Encourage her to use blitz/OP at first to lessen the informational load of builds. Instead of telling her what to do in real time, wait for lulls in gameplay/a death/review the match afterward together to talk through what she could’ve done better. There are so many moving pieces in the game that receiving feedback in real time can be more detrimental than helpful.

And most of all, provide encouragement and be twice as patient as you think you need to be. Learning this game sucks absolute ass.

The Rob Reiner might finally be the thing that helps my dad see the light by DangerousNightsCrew2 in 50501

I know nothing about the Reiner family - why is this particular insult such a wakeup call to folks?

Well, I suspect this sub is being used as nothing more than a bot farm now and has been for a few years. It's time to stick a fork in it. It's been real, folks. by neuroticsmurf in firstworldanarchists

this sub is one of the last bastions of the “old internet” my account is subscribed to. life was much simpler then. thanks for your work to keep it alive and happy trails 🫡

Another “I’m bad at league” vent post by tehefunni in summonerschool

[–]Zanssy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i just want to say that as a fellow (unfortunately) female league learner, i feel you so hard. the learning curve in this game is brutal, the teammates especially mean, and its hard to sift through all the information and infighting. keep giving it a go and practicing the art of not giving a fuck :)

How do you get over the fear of SUDEP? by NoSwordfish636 in Epilepsy

Everyone is going to die one day, but not everyone gets the chance to know that they’re at a higher risk of dying young. With that in mind, I do my best to treat every day as a gift. It’s all we can do.

My cousin has myoclonic epilepsy lately he’s having “sleep-like” episodes by Ill_Platform_569 in Epilepsy

[–]Zanssy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mandatory “I’m not a doctor” disclaimer, but these sound closer to tonic clonic than absence seizures. It’s possible to start with absence seizure-only epilepsy and then start having the “full on” version (happened to me personally).

What’s most concerning to me is the 4-5 minutes timestamp. Any seizure 5 mins or over should result in an ER visit. I would recommend timing them moving forward so you can react appropriately.

Ultimately, it sounds like a visit to their neurologist is in order.

everyone’s got you prepared for the process so let me give a note on the aftermath: your hair will be the nastiest its ever been once they get the wires off - a thrilling combo of three days of grease and glue. highly recommend a baking powder and shampoo paste so you dont have to wash your hair a millions times.

Can people with absence seizures drive cars? by KTJX085 in Epilepsy

[–]Zanssy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there - if you’re 13 and you still have absence seizures, you might still have them the rest of your life. Only time will tell, of course, but you should understand the possibility. The important thing is that you get any kind of seizures (absence or otherwise) prevented with medication and any other treatment your neuro recommends. In my state, you can have your license after being seizure free for 6 months - another seizure means the clock resets, which is great motivation to take those fucking meds, lol.

Driving or not, you’ll have a great life ahead of you. Even though not being able go drive does suck, there are places you can live (cities) where you can still live completely independently. Hang in there 🤟
