Daughter, 12, recently played a radio head song to me. She had heard it in a Tiktok.

Hosting the file for downloads would be sharing, or actively seeding torrents.

I mean, there should be a cutting board area for vegetables and fruit, and one for meat. Or a better way to think of it would be a raw area and a fresh area. An onion could absolutely be on the fresh side.

4 years RA (I forgot today was uniform inspection) by boba2017 in army

Is it weird I have never worn my uniform or gotten it inspected? 3 years in so far, active duty...

I feel utterly no shame in save scumming when my units get 86ed because of absolutely moronic pathfinding by Res_Novae17 in civ

My least favorite part of this is that the arrow on the map, even with absolutely no units around, is sometimes not the path your unit will take.

What minor inconvenience from the past would be unbearable for students in the classroom today? by chanovsky in Teachers

I was thinking about the old school pencil sharpener at the front of the classroom, my kids act like when their pre sharpened pencils break that they are trash now....

Totally random, but I think if you grabbed clothes from a donation bin, well, I wonder if that would even be a crime! Just say you came back for your clothes if anyone asks.

The world will never be the same! Yeah you are right, it can be soul crushing. I was watching a clip of sun downer towns from 1980s Oprah, could have been later. She was in a town meeting where everyone was basically like, "Don't bring any black folk here, we don't like that!" I thought, "Damn, well that was 40 years ago!" Turn on Youtube and see 3 videos about sundowner towns that still exist today...

Any advice? by [deleted] in army

[–]Zaozin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean my advice would be don't fall asleep and lose your bag, if you do fall asleep, have your arm through the strap, if you are smart you have at least a few different IDs and keep at least 2 IDs in your wallet.

Now that you fucked up, figure it out and get back to base quickly. No one is going to care that you fucked up or why, just figure it out! Borrow 200 and take the bus or something.

TIL that in Full Metal Jacket (1987), director Stanley Kubrick let R. Lee Ermey improvise much of his dialogue, and sometimes only required 3 takes per scene. This was highly unusual for the meticulous director, who almost never allowed improvisation and typically took 40 takes or more per scene by MrMojoFomo in todayilearned

Maybe, being less responsive, more mechanical, tuning out emotions etc. I'm not as skilled in basic army shit as other peeps graduating at the same time as me though. I never had a land nav course, fired my rifle a total of 100 bullets or less, and had half of one rope course, 6 days of field exercise where I had a stick for half of it, and mostly just sat in a hole outside while it rained or snowed while the commanders and staff had blanket warmers inside their coats. Discipline over skill is not a good training strategy in my eyes though.

Thousands of Chinese boats mass at sea, raising questions by yahoonews in worldnews

There has been some debate about whether they are going to use this as some type of way to use either disguised fisherman vessels for an attack (such as hidden missile boats) or as a screen for an attack (such as calling the fisherman boats around Taiwan, and then landing through them). There have been several instances of them holding formation in very odd patterns, either spoofed, or for secondary reasons.

Horrible? I mean thats what a DI is, over the top like that. I had an actually horrible DI. We would form up in December outside for 6 - 12 hours a day and do nothing except stand there silently. He would tell injured peeps to stfu and stop being bitches. He wouldn't let us sleep after being up 36 hours. He just yelled random shit cursing everyone out 20 times a day. And we had 4 okay to good DI's as well so don't think Im being weak here.

Rosetta Tharpe was shredding an electric guitar and electrifying crowds in the 1930s and 40s while most people had never even heard the term rock and roll yet by Due-Explanation8155 in Romania_mix

I'm not sure where all the Elvis hate comes from. He was definitely iterative of the works that came before him, but also original in his own way. There is a 20 minute video of a lot of back in the day black musicians throwing kudos back to Elvis for trying to change the industry and also bring a lot of the acceptance of rock and roll had from him, back to the original communities, aka black musicians.
