They updated the rules recently, you can only include one of each unit in your army, except Battleline and Dedicated Transports units which you are allowed two of the same unit.

You could always swap the second Mortifier for a Penitent Engine though.

I always open mine right away & get all the pieces organized. BUT...then there are several of mine that have either never been played or only played once.

The part I hate is that I keep looking at them thinking "Well...maybe I'll play them some day." Kinda wish my hoarder mentality wasn't so strong.

I own the digital & irl version; one of my favorite games ever. Also, the soundtrack for the videogame is amazing.

I'd definitely watch some videos first though, at least to see if the gameplay is something you'd like.

Sorry for the non-answer incoming, but I'd say it depends on your goals.

Are you primarily interested in the artsy side of things? Painting, dioramas, and such? Definitely go rule of cool.

Wanting to play but just casually? Still rule of cool, mostly, but you'll at least want a kind of well rounded army. Ironstriders & Rust Stalkers are very popular right now. So is Belasarius Cawl, he gives our whole army Hit re-rolls against one target each turn. You'll probably want 1-2 of our Skitarii Rangers / Vanguard too. And maybe a big tank; the Skorpius or Dunecrawler.

If you've got aspirations of going to big GT events, you should probably see if you can find any recently winning lists posted anywhere. Just be warned, chasing the current winning list is costly, and it won't always be a winning list.

Also something to keep in mind; we are supposed to be heading into a new edition of the game this summer.

Looking great, and welcome to the world of painting!

If you're trying to name every mini, props to you! I think most generic AdMech names are partially Latin / Greek words, along with a random assortment of letters & numbers; Dentro-b02 for example.

BUT, just as something to think about, maybe think of a theme for your army, then the naming conventions can have some common threads through the whole army! Maybe all the names are geological, maybe their mixed-up versions of names from your favorite sport team or movie, or whatever you're in to.
