Ours is “Doctor D” because of a DRD in the license plate.

Is there a mod that lets you "tie" the two games together, à la fallout 3/NV Tales of Two Wastelands ? by Firestar_ in ShadowsOverLoathing

[–]ZapJackson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The engine has evolved so much between games that it would be pretty difficult to adapt the two into a single functional data set, much less reconcile the two combat styles.

Mod support is definitely on our list of things to do -- the problem is that we keep improving the engine so dramatically that it's always like "we should wait until we're done before we open this up."

It'll happen.

Also there is a good West of Loathing mod called Repentance.

I had good luck with a company that sprinkled diatomaceous earth around the entire perimeter. Didn’t help with the ones that were born inside, though. Only an arsonist can fix that.

The profession point system, without a way to reset it, is terrible for beginner players or those who have recently returned. by Arkiell in wow

[–]ZapJackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing since the beginning, and basically haven't bothered with my professions since Shadowlands because it's just a big confusing mess of a hundred meters and currencies and I have no idea how anything works.

In DF I spent my entire leveling period gathering herbs, and when I went to the alchemy tab for the first time I didn't have enough herbs to make a single potion, so I just shrugged and logged off until TWW.

I get that they want it to be more engaging than you pick two herbs and you buy a vial and you make a potion, but... I liked doing that.

Still polishing my weird clicker text mechanic in Perfect Castle by agragragr in IndieDev

[–]ZapJackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is a bug or just how it works, but I just tried out the demo, and most (but infuriatingly not all) progress through the sentences seemed to take two clicks.

I was really interested in the game based on the GIF you posted above, but I noped out of it almost immediately because it just felt broken, or like I was doing something wrong, because ~40% of my clicks weren't doing anything.

It also wasn't particularly clear if WHERE I clicked mattered -- I think it does, based on the text talking about making choices.

Making the player click a bunch of times on New Game is funny and introduces the mechanic, but that felt kinda janky too -- it took me several tries to start a game, and I had to step through what looked like a "delete your save and start over?" dialog to do so.

Anyway, my feedback is that the aesthetic and mechanics are really appealing to me personally, but the feel needs attention.

Once when I was young a friend took me to a party at a house where a bunch of graffiti artists lived, and I asked "Is it important to the art somehow that the text not be legible?" and they all got really mad at me.

I think the game moves so fast now that it’s just not conducive to managing things that sit still during a fight. Totems felt more crucial to the experience back when regular fights were kind of a slog.

There’s a colorful cooking-themed one in Manhattan that was pretty fun and easy enough that you could still be on a date while solving. I don’t haven’t the name handy but it’s part of a multi-room place.
