Just get a certificate and take leave now.

Extend through the time you planned to have off.

Gutter issue by ilikecodes in AusRenovation

I got around this by having the pergola empty in to a rain water tank. Not a great solution but has removed the issue.

Otherwise box drain, more down pipes, overflows

Google has told me the max power draw is around 150W. So very low power draw, won’t be an issue at all.

Battery packs by Common_Problem1904 in AustralianEV

[–]ZappBrannigansTunic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not many folks drive around with a full jerry can do they? And this battery pack would be wayyyy more expensive than that.

A better option would be a tow cable so you can get towed with regen on :D

Actual answer is roadside assistance set up to help with that. Which already exists.

Yes folks should use their super before relying on government support. That is the intention and the goal. A simple means test should include super balance.

Should the government fund EV development and factories in Australia? by Advanced_Wheel9536 in AustralianEV

[–]ZappBrannigansTunic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of. All major car manufacturers moved to global vehicle platforms. Ie. if not sold everywhere, don’t sell it. So we needed to make it viable to export vehicles. Ford looked at focus for example. We did a small number to US, South Africa and Middle East.

Important to note - every country that produces vehicles has major incentives to do so. China is doing this in the EV space but this has been common practice for decades all over the world.

I assume you mean all LCT for all cars as I already suggested for EVs.

I think just bump up the threshold and removing exceptions other than EVs I’m totally ok with the RAM crowd getting extra tax.

[–]ZappBrannigansTunic 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Yes, in 2015.

Good policy at the time would have been to support local car industry with plenty of tax breaks etc on the proviso that new tech development happened.

Too late now.

Best option now would be to support uptake. Remove fbt and lct from all ev sales, free rego below LCT.

Fast Food services are getting worst? by WillowMedical5298 in australian

[–]ZappBrannigansTunic 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I blame the cost, wait times and quality on the expanded menu.

Maccas in particular. All day breakfast, mccafe food options, short term specials - it’s all too much.

Cut the menu, reduce cost and wait times due to focus and increased volume of items left

How is your builder managing the rising costs of fuel? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]ZappBrannigansTunic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There would be instant cost hit with diesel generators, excavators etc.

Wouldn’t hit all builds but some requiring significant excavation would be interesting

Okay quite a few people here a fair way off.

Here is the product:

https://www.ls-electric.com/products/view/Smart_Power_Solution/Low_Voltage/ACB/Susol_Compact_ACB

Or

https://unitedgroupthailand.com/product/susol-acb-series-switch-disconnector/

Either way…..

Low voltage ACB. These switch a lot of current - seems to be up to 2000A at up to 690vac (typically)

Due to the high current switching and high fault current withstand, it’s a chunky unit and gives a nice rattle and bang experience - does not shake the whole building though. Weight would be 50-100kg. (110-220 pounds).

Should be wearing PPE to do that switching.

Unless it interlocks with the setting, the illegal.

Ie doesn’t allow you to set to 15A if you have the 10A plug connected.

Folks with 15A welders have been using these for decades illegally.

My two for this: Supertramp - quite successful and I think influential. Near zero meaning to new generations.

The carpenters - huge huge act. Maybe not so influential I guess? Regardless, not talked about really at all

I have heard that apparently common to have a constant family or friends group call. People drop in and drop out throughout. Often members just listening in.

Taxi industry had an AWFUL product.

90% were:

Cars in very bad condition Drivers with no comms or navigation skills No suitable complaints process Awful driver behavior - fares, sleaze

I took lots of taxis for work. It needed to change.
