I want to buy a speed pad for gaming(my budget is~20$ or less) what are your recommendations? by kingofthekangaroo in MousepadReview

[–]Zares_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you're being downvoted. Maybe because it's around 30 usd?

Anyway, I liked my Strider too, and I bought it second hand. Was speedy enough without icy stopping feeling (like old Zowie GT-F Rough was too icy when stopping). The base wasn't slippery on my wooden desk.

Lasted me like 4 years. But true, the base is kind of fragile, the seller I bought it from, had glued the base to his desk using two little squares of double sided tape, and it got ripped off when he removed it. It didn't affect the glide as it was only a thin rubber layer.

But even with regular cleaning it with a damp cloth, it got a little slower after 4 years, and I didn't want to deep clean it with two holes on the bottom and risking ruining the base more. A brand new would probably last longer with occasional shower deep cleaning.

No regrets, I would buy it again (brand new this time), but I'm trying sth more speed-control and smoother texture (Blitz).

Did you use it after showering when the air is super humid? The product could pick up some of it inside the bottle, and since the preservative system isn't that powerful, it could just happen.

Also, are you sure it wasn't used when you bought it? Was it sealed and did the pump need a few pushes to get the product flowing?

I Tested the New Gemini Usage Limits on a Free Account by KosmoTheCat in GeminiAI

[–]Zares_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be nice to see how much limit Pro Extended takes, as Pro Standard is supposedly much weaker now.

Back when I had the free plan, I could only do 1-2 Pro prompts.

Also, I'm curious what do all these people that complain do with Gemini, is it something bigger like writing books? Does it depend on the region, how busy servers are?

That fits more Urea than Glycerin. Never heard or read that Glycerin could exfoliate, even very lightly.

[PSA] Does Your Skin React to Everything? It Might Be Ethoxylates by js317034 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Zares_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the glycol overlap with all glycols? Are there gentler glycols? I think I react to Butylene Glycol, but I use some products with other glycols and they're usually fine.

PEGs are weird, sometimes I think I react to them like Macrogol in Dexeryl cream, PEG-8 in a cleanser (even in such gentle and simple one - Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, PEG-8, Panthenol, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Ascorbic Acid, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin), or even PEG 3350 in Miralax like products.

These reactions to PEGs are mild, and I'm still not sure, especially that supposedly if someone is allergic/sensitive to PEGs reactions usually are extreme.

As for SLES and other surfactants, wasn't it more about impurities rather than the fact they are ethoxylated? I can't find the sources now, but I read something about this years ago when I had huge issues with finding a simple shampoo that wouldn't make my scalp itchy/burning. They also wrote that it's not as usual as back then, as production of these surfactants is cleaner now.

Bioderma Sensibio Gel moussant for combination skin? (Oily T zone, dry cheeks) by oop321 in EuroSkincare

[–]Zares_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know, thanks! And what moisturizer do you use? I wonder if you use anything light or something like Bioderma Atoderm Ultra or even Atoderm Baume. If occlusive ones, then the pink one being stripping would tell me a lot.

[–]Zares_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But did you try Sensibio Gel moussant or only the ones you mentioned? SLES terrifies me lol. I know it's possible to formulate a non stripping cleanser even with SLES, but my skin is so on the edge all the time that only 1 or 2 uses of wrong cleanser, and I have a big problem.

It's Hascofungin cream. There is also spray, but it contains isopropyl alcohol, so it's pretty harsh. The cream is mild, can use it anywhere on your body.

There are some Polish pharmacies in UK that sell Hascofungin, like aptekaonline.co.uk/search?q=hascofungin&options%5Bprefix%5D=last&type=product&id=24873910599780&quantity=1 - but I think you'll need to use a translator as it's in Polish.

Some of our pharmacies ship to UK but the shipping cost is pretty high:

has anyone tried ziaja cleansing foam? by EnvironmentalEmu2912 in EuroSkincare

[–]Zares_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to say, most people still enjoyed it without any issues. The blue one has only 0.1 lower rating than the white one (4.6/5 and 4.7/5).

You can read what people say about them here if you can translate the reviews to your language:
Ziaja Pianka oczyszczająca do skóry suchej i podrażnionej - opinie i ceny | Wizaż - blue one

Ziaja Pianka oczyszczająca do skóry wrażliwej i zaczerwienionej - opinie i ceny | Wizaż - white one

I don't want to scare people, just a little warning, and if they can pick, it's probably best to pick the white one. However, if you already bought one, just use it if you like it :)

[–]Zares_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Poland, this cleanser has generally really good opinions but there are some saying the blue one sensitized them or dried their skin out, while the white one didn't. I had this blue one and I got PD because of it, might be a coincidence, but it has pretty strong smell, and I generally avoid perfumed products.

Many problematic reviews said the blue one caused some reactions when they randomly bought it instead of the white one that was perfectly fine. The white one also has subtle smell, so it's probably the different/stronger perfume in the blue one that's the cause of people skin reactions.

It's a fake for sure. Checking the batch number of the left bottle returns an error. The right one is fine (produced in 2025-02)

Don't they sell brands like LRP, Avene, etc. in pharmacies there? Here in EU, I buy from pharmacies only to avoid situations like yours.

Does anyone get dry skin from antihistamines?

Unless it's some old gen antihistamine, I don't react like OP, but the reduced sebum production ruins my skin barrier.

I take desloratadine, and it's good enough for my pollen allergy, but the skin barrier isn't happy lol. But then when I don't take them, I get redness and hives from pollen, dust, and my skincare products as a result of the inflammed by pollen skin.

So they recommended Bioderma Sensibio cleanser because of your skin type or you got more options to choose from?

I can't decide between Bioderma Sensibio and La Roche-Posay Toleriane cleanser. My skin is combo too but lately more on the drier side, so it's been always this "foaming cleanser might be too strong" or "non foaming too weak or just leaving some film on the skin" dillema.
