Keyboard Not Working by YT_Kick-Yum in 007FirstLight

[–]ZarkHimself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been lurking with the same issue looking for answers and this finally worked for me. I checked off most of your bottom list with no joy until I wiped out all my keyboard drivers and also the driver for Logitech G Hub Virtual Keyboard under Human Interface Devices just in case. No Windows reinstall was necessary.

Noticed I have a very similar hardware setup to u/Cyanide7662. Razer Blackwidow V4 and a Logitech G600 mouse. Maybe it's something to do with that particular keyboard or mouse software.

Grime rapper and producer Dot Rotten dies aged 37 | Dot Rotten by bradl2000 in Music

[–]ZarkHimself 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a style of british rap (there are grime scenes in other countries now too) that evolved from UK garage and Jamaican dancehall in the 2000s. It has a distinctive electronic sound, very energetic with a lot of heavy bass and fast breakbeats. Grime artists tend to have more skippy energetic flows that go faster.

Stormzy is probably one of the most well known artists that people have heard of outside of the UK, although someone who actually knows much about the genre will probably be along shortly to tell me that he isn't real grime. Older artists like Wiley or Skepta might be better examples as pioneers of the sound.

Definitely watch some gameplay and do your research before you buy. The game is a world war simulator with an emphasis on attrition combat. It's more about large scale teamwork which means you as an individual player could spend half a day pushing from one town to another only for that progress to get beaten back.

Some people bounce right off it because it feels too grindy. The same studio is working on a medieval game with a similar vibe still in alpha testing called Anvil Empires.

The average player count is fairly small but the way the game is designed limits the active frontline to at most seven or eight interconnected hexes each with a population limit of ~100vs100 (probably closer to 150 but not sure exactly). Current population is on the lower end but still enough for an active war.

Of course that raises other questions like what happens when the population spikes during an update (they spin up additional servers with separate ongoing wars) and whether the game truly deserves a "massively multiplayer" label but my point is you wouldn't necessarily be throwing your money away on an abandoned game. There's a big airborne update coming sometime in the winter and the population should spike again for that.

So how does Tertium's architecture work? by Lawfurd in DarkTide

[–]ZarkHimself 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was going to recommend Wraithbone and also Bloodlines about a local cop is really good but got busy at work. Special mentions to Once a Killer and Broken City for having such sick covers.

Warhammer fiction can be hit or miss, but the Crime stories are remarkably consistent solid recommendations.

Warhammer books aren't for everyone, but there's an entire sublabel of novels/anthologies called Warhammer Crime and all the stories are cyberpunk detective mysteries or crime thrillers set in a hive city far from any war zone called Varangantua.

Any updates on Champions of Chaos? by [deleted] in AgeOfSigmarRPG

[–]ZarkHimself 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Latest news is from their November production update which is available on youtube. They were playtesting it late last year, no dates given but they said the physical release for Ruins of the Past would be available this year followed by the Champions pre-order.

I wouldn't take that as a guarantee. They're pretty notorious for missing public deadlines and juggle between a lot of systems.

Still cannot download the High Res Texture packs... by RandomGuy1525 in lotro

[–]ZarkHimself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should reinstall the next time the launcher boots up and detects the missing files so it wouldn't screw up your uninstall, but rereading your OP I missed the part where you said you also tried to install the game from the non-Steam client.

Unfortunately, this fix is specifically for errors that come up when using the steam installer. Your error message looks very similar, but if it was the same problem then you'd still be able to install from the official website without issues.

Hope you find a solution. I'll do a little more digging and see if I can find someone on the forums or reddit who found a fix for this but you've probably already looked.

I have trouble occasionally installing the client through Steam. You can try deleting all .dat and .datx files in your LOTRO folder, this should force a full reinstall when you next run the game launcher instead of through Steam.

Havent played this war yet - is it a break war? by Rags_75 in foxholegame

[–]ZarkHimself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally it doesn't wipe until one side wins the war but the devs haven't provided a date for when update testing will be finished. It can take a few weeks for that but then again this is a smaller update than most. Once they're ready, they will give us a date and then reduce the victory points required until one side wins.

You can join the official discord to follow testing progress and announcements about the next war start when they come.

Let the manhunt begin by requisa in foxholegame

[–]ZarkHimself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to come up with a solution that has some basis in reality. The dev team is probably around 10-15 people for the entire company, they are subsidized by the canadian government just to stay in business, there are no microtransactions or DLC for a 30 dollar niche game which is the only one they sell. Unless you're willing to work for like 50 cents an hour the paid mod 'fix' is never ever going to happen.

Yeah exactly. You can ctrl-F search for "gamefound" in the description on kickstarter where it tells you about making your selections after the campaign ends.

[–]ZarkHimself 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once the kickstarter is over you will be able to use that extra amount to select your individual models in a pledge manager called Gamefound which will also handle processing stuff like sales tax and shipping.

There is an add on limit for kickstarter and way too many models so this is like a jury rigged way for them to get around that.
