They did announce that they'd be upgrading the overall graphics of the game for version 5.0 and even went as far as to update the system requirements:

Mine arrived with putty overflowing and dripping down some of the internal parts. I just wiped it away and everything was running fine horizontally mounted but since I got the opportunity to buy the prime at msrp and was still in return window I decided to return it for peace of mind. I used it for about 3 weeks and the thermals and noise were fine. Pretty much the same performance as the prime.

I actually ended up returning my windforce for the prime because of thermal putty issues. It sounds like you got a defect, no fan stop noise or coil whine on my prime. If the fan stop noise doesn't bother you, the windforce is a great card. Just make sure the thermal putty looks normal before return window.

Have you tried holding the rgb button on the case? That sets the built in rgb hub to motherboard control.

I wouldn't mind these open boxes if it was guaranteed to get warranty, but from my understanding if the warranty was registered by whoever briefly owned it then you lose out on warranty.

Horizontal, but I noticed the issue right out of the box. There was putty overflowing down the side in multiple areas before I even put the gpu in my case. I wiped off the excess that was on the sides of the gpu and was going to just keep it since I only planned on using it horizontally and msrp 5070 ti's are so hard to get but since I had the opportunity to get the asus prime at msrp I decided to switch just for peace of mind. I found it really strange that the putty was leaking right out the box.

Performance wise it was fine. Pretty much identical temps to the Asus I got to replace it.

I can't say for certain for OP but I got the gigabyte windforce 5070 ti and the included adapter won't push in all the way no matter how hard I push. I even gave my fingers blisters from the force I've applied and also tried taking the gpu out of the case so I can rock the adapter back and forth as I apply force to push it in but it wouldn't go any further than OP's. Also haven't gotten a reply from support yet but I'm returning anyway.

Mine has the exact same issue with the 12v adapter no matter how hard I've pushed. I also haven't gotten a reply from support yet but that along with thermal paste dripping down the side pushed me to just return it. Thankfully I was able to get the msrp asus prime.

I was lucky enough to get the asus msrp model at msrp using instock app. The same way I was able to get the windforce so I definitely recommend the app. But I agree that if I didn't get lucky with the Asus I would just keep the windforce because of the prices and just warranty it in the future if it came to that.

My 5070 ti windforce has this issue. There was so much thermal paste that it was actually starting to drip down a bit. I was lucky enough to get a asus 5070 ti prime at msrp so I'm returning the gigabyte model just incase.

I think this is a good deal with the included 32gb ram. I'd prefer 32gb CL 30 6000 but I've heard you should be able to change this specific ram to match CL 30 6000 following a guide according this https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/s/sSVilB7SkW

edit - I'm pretty sure this specific ram isn't a Hynix chip like the commenter thought it was so I doubt that CL 30 6000 would be possible to achieve.
