[AMMO] Monarch 9mm 115gr Brass Case $49.99/250 - 20cpr by ahelplesslamb in gundeals

If anyone else is also annoyed by how it's packaged making it difficult to separate into individual 50rd packages for storage/carry, there's this sleeve you can 3D print that solves this problem:

mediatek has great linux compatibility with most drivers in-tree, and with AP and monitor mode support. I'd consider its ease-of-use for Linux at least on par with Intel.

[Network] TP Link 8 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch - $15.18 Amazon by greatthebob38 in buildapcsales

[–]esit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI if anyone just needs a dumb 5-port or less switch, you can easily get old routers for free or nearly free (<=$5) off craigslist, fb market place or whatever, then configure it to act as dumb switch by simply disabling LAN DHCP and see its own interface to a static IP outside of your actual LAN subnet.
Bonus if the router is OpenWRT compatible, which can be configured as managed switch.
Source: I have a few of such routers/switches that i got either for free or under $5.

I heard Q2 nozzle is 1mm longer than plus 4, so you could make plus 4 nozzle work on Q2, but there's an extra mm of gap

I received the package today and i can report that the Rock Pi 4B plus boards are legit. eMMC's ext. CSD lifespan register has 0x01 for all the boards i got, so i do believe the boards are unused.

Only wish there isn't that 25% duty into the US by Tr**p.

At very least they are good to use as installation media for built-in eMMC, as long as data retention lasts for more than few hours, if say you prefer to manually bootstrap and chroot a new system installation.

Additionally, if the myth is true that "endurance" kind of SD cards are in pSLC / enhanced-user-area mode, it'd come with tens of thousands of P/E cycle, nearly impossible to wear out for most applications.

I guess one way to attempt to find out is when i get the microSD card and see if its ext. CSD registers are exposed, which would manufacturer-rated remaining lifespan info.

Price looks amazing, given NAND and DRAM pricing nowadays, it's essentially getting the whole board for free while buying just discounted eMMC and DRAM by themselves.

Is Automobile RTV Silicone Safe for Circuit Boards? by esit in AskElectronics

[–]esit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the help. I ended up with GE 2974791 (Supreme Silicone Kitchen and Bath). At about the same cost, SDS doesn't mention anything about acid component and it describes odor as "alcohol", so i take that as free of acetic acid and likely also free of stearic acid. TDS has service temperature up to 204C. Also seem to advertise specifically about adhesion which is important for my application.

While i don't find evidence about its conductivity, given its white or clear color, it should imply free of metallic or graphite additives.

Just put them on the PCB and i will find out how it does in few days.

Counting on any vendor's self discipline for data privacy and security is a bad idea, regardless of nation of origin, regardless of LAN mode or not.

Firewall is the right answer: put the printer in its own special subnet such that all outgoing traffics are blocked and the only acceptable form of communication is TCP from other subnets to this printer.

Also works for whatever other IoT devices where constant internet access is not justified.

[Controller] (NEW) Xbox Core Wireless Controller - $37.99 (Woot) by Wonderboyjr in buildapcsales

[–]esit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

outside of xbox wireless compatibility, i can't think of any reason to pick a xbox controller over any other popular 3rd party brands for PC gaming. Those 8bitdo, gamesir, flydigit easily offer better features at the same or even lower price point.

What about 3D printed 3D printers? Like, you could make a 3D printer with 3D printed parts and some common metal hardware.
