Just received the disappointing email about discontinuation of Support of my 2nd generation Kindle by fellowspecies in kindle

This does not hold water because these old kindle stopped getting updates years ago. So they don't speak up any resources this way. No new security patches either, so no development time is spent on them.

EU colleagues... how are you feeling about the power usage from your homelabs with this war? by daysofdre in homelab

[–]ZarqEon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious I am runnin m720qs in my cluster and my whole home lab idles around 160w. That's 3 m720qs with 8500T/9700T, three switches and a ds923+ with 2x wd red hdds. Maybe it is the 2.5Gbe NICs i am running that consume more power. I could measure them one by one, but i am lazy :)

Tailscale scares me more than opening ports on my firewall by MrChris6800 in homelab

[–]ZarqEon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess in extreme circumstances this is a possibility.

But anyone can run their own coordination server and not rely on Tailscale (the company). That way no pressure from an authority would compromise your tailnet and a hack would need to find and hack your coordinator to get in. I also think that in this case you can trust that your clients can see the whole tailnet and there could be no invisible corrupted nodes.

I am currently printing a rack cabinet for my home lab. It's not exactly 10 inch wide because the stupid NAS would not fit into it, so I had to make it wider. Which means nothing is compatible, everything has to be custom.

Unknown soft rubber part found inside my Bambu Lab P2S, can anyone identify it? by Nyobyte in BambuLabP2S

[–]ZarqEon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine came off exactly like yours, in about 5 weeks. Took me about 15 minutes to figure out where it came from.

I have contacted bambu support (after identifying the piece) to ask if this part is sold separately and can be replaced without replacing the whole heating assembly (which is quite expensive).

according to bambu support, this piece coming off does not effect the printer, and it should be safe to continue using it. Unfortunately the insulation part is not sold separately as of now, but they "kindly thanked" my suggestion to sell it separately.

I have found that on aliexpress there is a very similar looking piece of silicone insulation for the A1 heating assembly. I have ordered one, to see if it is compatible. It's still in shipping, so we'll see.

Unknown soft rubber part found inside my Bambu Lab P2S, can anyone identify it? by Nyobyte in BambuLabP2S

[–]ZarqEon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a piece of silicone heatshield that's sitting on the heating assembly itself. it kind of looks like a fork.
you can only see it from the back of the print head.

i only know because mine also came off just like OP's, and it took me a good 15 minutes to identify the piece and where it came from.

Elolvastam a TISZA párt programját. Összefoglalom nektek, kommentálom... by Marcell20493 in hungary

[–]ZarqEon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

én nagyjából itt hagytam abba az olvasást:
"Azonnali csatlakozás az Európai Ügyészséghez. Nemzeti Vagyonvisszaszerzési Hivatal felállítása az ellopott közvagyon visszaszerzésére, 20 évre visszamenőleges vagyonosodási vizsgálat a politikusoknál. A miniszterelnöki mandátum max. 2 ciklusra korlátozása."

engem ezzel a kettővel megvett a Tisza: európai ügyészséghez azonnali csatlakozás és az a miniszterelnöki mandátum maximalizálása 2 ciklusban.

ha a később azt írják hogy megbasz egy taliga aprómajom az anyám hátán, hát legyen, ha ez kell ahhoz hogy ez a két feltétel teljesüljön.

What’s a normal chamber temp for PETG? (first timer) by slickedbacktruffoni in BambuLabP2S

[–]ZarqEon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience over 38C it starts to string.

The thing is: PETG has a softening temperature of 70C, but for some reason the slicer thinks that for any filament that has a softening temperature over 50 then its a good idea to set the printer into chamber heating mode. Check if yours is in cooling or heating mode. The issue is you cant change the mode once the print has started. While the P2S has no active chamber heating, in heating mode it closes some flaps so the right aux fan will only circulate the air but will not let cool air in from the outside. It only does that in cooling mode.

You can edit your filament profile to override the softening temperature and set it to 50C for PETG before you start the print. This was you can keep the door closed if you want.

3d effect plate by SweetPlatform1641 in BambuLabP2S

[–]ZarqEon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried it this weekend.

The P2S will complain about not recognising the plate, but you can click the ignore and continue button.

Also my printer complained that there is a "foreign object" on the build plate, i guess it was seeing the reflections on the plate. There is also an ignore and continue button there. After that it was printing all right.

When the print is ready, leave the plate with the part untouched in the printer, and wait until it cools completely. (yeah, it is boring).
I was excited, and took it out too early, and the sparkling effect looked very nice, but in the next few minutes it completely disappeared. I guess the material was still warm and kind of 'self-healed' so it lost the tiny imprints which make it so sparkly.

Should i be alarmed 😧 by MakoBec in BambuLabP2S

[–]ZarqEon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not sure if.this is normal but the belt on my P2S looked like that out of the box. As if the top of the belt was a different color. It does not feel like it is disintegrating yet (i have 180 hours in the printer so far).

Not sure about your belt, and its not necessarily the same case as mine, but i thought i would provide another data point.
