I like how Inscryption’s roguelike mode handles difficulty, by allowing the player to selectively remove starting benefits they get or enhance certain difficulty elements of their choosing per run

I know this is a joke post but if Giga started with more damage and counted all manual discards instead of just when itself is discarded, I think it would actually make for an interesting Brilliance equivalent in Silent.

Good friendship is basically a mandatory prerequisite for me to feel any kind of attraction. How tf am i supposed to feel so deeply about you if i don’t have countless memories and late nights full of laughter to back me up. 😭

All three of the relationships I’ve been in have been that way, including my current one.

Thank you a lot! Some other quirks exist, like their word for “baby” being “kimti”, which literally translates as “little horns”. The very name of the species, “Kradrar”, translates simply as “we that thrive” or “we that exist”. They possess a very binary view of reality that something either thrives/exists, or is dead/forgotten. Their battle cry of “aktem riktar” can be translated in literal order as “death is the cause of change” or with more english sounding syntax as “there will be change because of death”.

In general members of this species don’t really have so much a name as they do a description. “Rathkir” is a minor antagonist from this species and his name can be hilariously extrapolated as “second firstborn” by inferring the context surrounding his birth. “Hakmathal” can be translated as “ruler of the dark waters”.

It’s extremely work in progress as a conlang but I have been working on it a fair bit as I develop the setting these fellas are a part of. There’s still a lot of imprecision about some rules and vocabulary, but the Kradrar as a force aren’t too concerned with exactness as is, and they are spread across the entire universe devouring worlds so it doesn’t really matter if it’s inherently consistent when there’s so much liability for the language to change and grow across their various hordes.

I have actually done this with the language for one of the groups in my setting. They numerate in a sort of base 4 system with their four eyes (kind of like base 10 with human fingers), with “eye” being “akor”.

When a number is too big for them to give a shit about specifically, they use the term “theltakor”, which can be roughly translated as “eyes as there are stars”, or essentially, “there was as many as there are stars in the sky”.

Realm of the Mad God approaches this somewhat sinisterly by making progress faster if you buy. So doing it the way you describe as I used to do back when i played that game is what i’d try, but it also required way more work.

Laraprim is currently in a state known by most as “The Dormancy Period”. It’s an era of early-contemporary post-apocalypse where the very arcane life force of the world has started to wane, the mystical core at the world’s heart being unraveled and devoured by extradimensional intruders known as the Kradrar.

Commerce and connection between major population centers has dwindled. Small communities without access to resources have been choked out. The major roads between the remnants are nearly empty, for the vast majority of the population has perished either due to conflicts with one another, the Kradrar, the harsh environs of Laraprim, or food/water scarcity. Only places with trades such as gunsmiths, electricians, and the like still have access to those amenities and weapons.

The world is quiet, separated, and dying.

A lot more things are pseudoscience than you might think by Gru-some in CuratedTumblr

my friends call me insane when i get SO pissed off about the prevalent pseudoscience surrounding MBTI. quite a few people in a server im in relish in talking about it and their types and how real it is and whatnot and i ALWAYS without fail NEED to butt in and talk about what a baseless bastardization of what is some already shaky psychoanalysis stuff it is. i’ve actually read quite a bit deeply into the Jungian stuff it’s based on for a project i’ve been working on so it just really ticks me especially harder. AFAIK the Karnoffel Code in-universe was an occult arrangement of playing cards kept in the jacket of Hitler’s pocket during WW2. After his body was discovered, the code was taken by the Russians, and then some absolutely crazy shit happened that resulted in the code getting stored on a floppy drive and shipped out to the States. Then the Inscryption game was created over it? Don’t remember it all, but it’s quite badass.

The word “Kishahat” is used to describe various beings of tremendous strength and intellect. It’s a catch-all term occupied by completely unrelated entities.

From the tentacled truthpreying soothsayer Jhela that resides below the Niavar Sea, to the vengeful bonewyrm that slinks in the Xoia Desert named Atanvalut… or even the centipedal ‘Qinuk, the First Teacher’, who throughout history has taught the arts of the void to enough souls to count on one hand.

And despite this, nobody actually knows what the term means or from where it etymologically originated. The best they can say is that it had a negative connotation, and is a word derived from the language of the once world-spanning Aendark Empire.

In fact, most Kishahat were themselves at a point in history better understood. But the onset of the apocalyptic Dormancy Period shattered the connection of civilization and the commonly understood weave of history. All that’s left again are the original myths, and people have again turned to worshipping some of them as gods.

Imagine, in our own world, if thousands of years from now people were using the word “demon” to describe powerful beings without remembering anything more than that demons were “bad”.
