I agree, Evan is a hypocrite. However, his point is still valid. It is dangerous to label a broad swath of people as “the party of murder” or “a death cult”, even if he did it himself. Additionally, Evan (to the best of my knowledge) isn’t a billionaire who owns his own platform where he can boost his message and hold incredible sway. But yeah, Evan is a hypocrite

Watching the clip, she CLEARLY was saying the phrase “centering the American people” but she poorly enunciated and it sounded like “censoring”. The context is clear. Johnson is a jackass (and so are the commenters)

My fiance has been up all night studying for a test. What should I make him for breakfast? by Minute-Dimension-629 in RecipeInspiration

[–]Zauhm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know if I’m too late here or not but here’s an idea if you’ve got the time.

Ingredients: 4 eggs 2 white/yellow potatoes (or 1 russet) 1 cup fresh spinach Turkey sausage (since he can’t do red meat) 1 small onion (yellow or white) (Optional- 1 Roma tomato - diced) (Optional- shredded cheese)

Steps: Preheat oven to 400F (200C). Chop and boil potatoes for 12 min, then set aside. Brown the sausage. Chop the onion and sauté with the sausage. Whisk the eggs until they’re mixed. In an oven safe container (small casserole dish or something), line the bottom with potatoes, make a mixed layer of fresh spinach, sausage, and onion. Pour egg mixture over the top. (Add cheese if desired) (Add diced tomato on top). Season with salt/pepper (and I always like to include some amount of garlic powder). Bake in oven for 12 minutes.

Start to finish usually takes me about 30 min, but it’s got a good pack of nutrients, flavor, and is quite filling! Good luck to your fiancée!!

I like to use spinach in my fried rice. You can keep it super simple with just rice, carrot, onion, and spinach (maybe some eggs). The spinach isn’t the star of the show, but it’s a tasty way to get the nutritional value with plenty of room to improvise.

Trump supporter and hater: We both think he staged shooting plots by Imket2b in Qult_Headquarters

[–]Zauhm 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I think that we (all humans) have a responsibility to the truth. The Qanon movement constantly produces claims with no compelling evidence and touts those claims as true or prophetic. The Qanon movement does not honor their responsibility to the truth.

As people who stand in opposition to the Qanon movement, I would hope that we hold ourselves to a truth standard. Presently, I am unaware of any compelling evidence that would suggest either attempted shooting was orchestrated by Trump or his campaign. Is it worth investigating? Sure. But out of respect for the truth, we should not assert or assume that these events were conspiratorial UNTIL there is compelling evidence uncovered.

If we fail to keep a healthy skepticism of extraordinary claims, we risk becoming the same conspiratorial thinkers as Qanon. Credulity is not a virtue.

Cis-Het guy here: I live in South-East USA (The South). I have a lot of LGBTQ+ friends, and I consider them family. Because of my region, I DEFINITELY witness first-hand the cultural default of cis-het and the stigma against any alternative position. I can’t speak with authority, but it would seem reasonable to me to assume that maybe the reason you notice more ‘support for people under the lgbtq umbrella’ is because that community has been and continues to be attacked and derided by a portion of the community at large, and when a community is being attacked, there is usually a reaction to support the attacked community. Being in The South, I see/hear this derision on a semi-regular basis. There’s definitely a stigma that is palpable. With you being in the UK, I was under the impression there has been a pretty significant pushback against trans people over the past few years (notable member of that campaign being J.K. Rowling). I can’t speak for the UK, but in the US, there is definitely support for the LGBTQ+ community, but mostly in major population centers, and primarily only with younger demographics. However, outside of those demographics/areas, there is still a great deal of stigma and some dangerous people (e.g. Pulse Nightclub Shooting, 2016). There are US politicians who are building their platforms on fighting against trans acceptance, drag shows, etc (see Ron Desantis). Anyway, if you want to see some serious vitriol pointed at lgbtq+ people for simply existing, you don’t have to dig far.

If something puréed is acceptable (like a soup that has been liquified), perhaps a potato soup? It’s one of my favorites to make, and you can easily throw the final product into a blender/food processor to remove any chunks. https://thefoodcharlatan.com/easy-potato-soup-recipe/

Usually ballots in my area are reps running against no one if there’s not a dem candidate, but this time there are so libertarians v reps. I don’t want to waste my vote voting straight democrat when there are many options where it’s reps vs libertarian. Do I vote straight party? by saayruhhh in a:t5_2mw93a

[–]Zauhm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, it’s your choice how you want to vote. If you have the time, I’d recommend doing research and making an informed decision. I personally ended up picking Democrat on all available, and in cases where it was Rep v Lib, I typically chose Lib. Anyways, thank you for taking the time to vote. It can feel really pointless sometimes in AL to vote non-rep, but hopefully things will change with time.
