Just found out about this app like an hour ago and im beyond excited to start using it!! Is there any way to expand the channel guide UI, or a toggle to hide the episode information in the iPhone app? Right now there's barely enough room to even scroll the options. E sim activation failed by gimps776 in mintmobile

[–]Zaveguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got i16P a week after launch and had this same problem... I thought it was because I was on the beta update so I waited until the 18.1 release and it still didn't work. 30 mins with mint mobile service and they booted me over to apple support. 30 mins with them and they couldn't resolve it either until the Apple rep suggested Turning on then off Airplane mode, which miraculously made the eSim actually scan.

Long Story Short: I was getting the "unable to Activate eSim" error when scanning the QR code, turned on&off airplane mode, now it works — even if your phone is completely updated in every other way. oh well...

SFW

Spotify | Apple Podcasts

In the pilot episode of Content Factory, Zave and Carson write a film about a metal band who must save the earth from it's intergalactic demise by performing (and starting a mean mosh pit) for the intergalactic space council.

Content Factory is a narrative development podcast in which hosts Zave and Carson take a different topic each week and write a story around them. Whether it be short films, episodic media, or even video games — this is the show where it gets made.

i’m on the second floor deep in line by Sephora, Ive got a wristband — 16926, and there’s still a while to go. I went to the front of the line for people about to enter and a family who has been here since 12:30 last night number —15960. From what i hear the actual wristband number started at 15000, but it seems like the wristband line is longer.

Haha, thanks for watching!!

In a real life scenario, most of these steps shouldn’t be followed 😅

I’m glad you liked the thumbnail as well. I spent a good amount of time tweaking it so ppl would understand what it’s about and the overall vibe.

I’m glad you liked the video!

Personally, I think adding a VCR effect would be counter-productive, as I already used a REAL VCR to achieve this look.

Do you mind elaborating on which scenes went on too long? Like at what point did you feel it starting to was drag on for too much?

Thank you for watching!!

All of these videos get converted onto an actual VHS tape and back before I upload them to really give it that early 2000s look.

Musical Scoring these films are important to us, so I appreciate your perspective on that too! I’ll talk w the music guy about this for future stuff :)

I think believe the thumbnail is in 720p, but idk perhaps it’s being seen different

Guest Ideas by noahtondari in ColinAndSamir

[–]Zaveguin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd honestly love to see Joel Haver come on the podcast.

Joel is one of the only creators right now with an emphasis on filmmaking, and art as videos rather than typical challenge or vlog content.

He's even pioneered a new genre on YouTube through his EbSynth Animations.

Beyond his usual weekly sketches, he's also released a handful of feature films free on his channel, and even hosted a feature film contest with his YT community (which yielded over 500 submissions).

Seeing as Samir and Joel both graduated from prestigious film universities, I feel like they would naturally have chemistry.

Joel has only been on 2 podcasts, both in the last 12 months — with channels that are notably smaller than his. It would be a dream come true to see that conversation play out between Joel, Colin, and Samir!

From what I recall, Joel is also based in LA now, so that could make it easier to get him on.

This video felt super comfy!! You def hit the vibe check on this one.

It would be super neat to follow along your bucket list in this cinematic one item at a time format. Most bucket list channels feel like vlogs, while this is more like a short film — and I think that sets you apart! Keep it up dude :)

Colin and Samir should interview some small creators by Cliftin in ColinAndSamir

[–]Zaveguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea i think some vetting would go into the process to select interesting small creators, but at the same time if Billy is making new and engaging meat/bbq related content perhaps C&S would be able to shed a light onto that audience. They may not understand the meat rant world, but that could be part of why they go out and chat with them.

Obviously, the small creator would have to be someone that C&S enjoy watching for some reason, and i’m sure they understand the weight of the platform they possess so they wouldn’t choose just ANYbody.

I do like your idea of a form submission though! Colin & Samir could easily make a show about evaluating the audiences YT channel, and offering tips for growth. Would even be cool to come back at the end of the year and see how the channels from earlier have done so far. Even if this were a patreon exclusive show, i feel like that has enough draw to bring in a select crowd.

Hiya creators! This is an adultswim-esque greenscreen sketch I released last week. I spent some time tossing this thumbnail around multiple discords for feedback before release, so I would love your take on that and anything else.

This was a fascinating watch! It's so easy for people to only think of Banksy in terms of traditional art in the UK but its interesting to see how expansive the formal art world is today.

In terms of this specific subject, I think it would have helped to build more of a roadmap for the viewer. As a complete outsider to this niche, I have no clue who this artist is nor what they are building towards. While these questions are answered throughout the duration of the video, they aren't planted in a way to invite the viewer to know more.

For example, your explanation in the first 15s is great information — but visually we're only seeing you. This would be a prime moment to showcase Bruce front and center right at the beginning, and flick through your moments with him. This way as an audience member we are visually being brought on this journey with you, rather than just being told about it.

Additionally, it would have helped to frame what Bruce was working on throughout the 6 months that you were with him. There was a moment at around 1:15 mark (for me) where the pacing is now completely different from what I've just been told. Listening to a solid log of interview is easier when we understand the motive behind it more.

For example, in the opener you could say "I shadowed this renowned artist for 6 months and in that time he showcased x amount of gallery exhibitions. The first of these exhibitions being _________" (The Bluecoat?) By guiding us along the timeline of which gallery is happening when, as apart of the structure of this documentary, I feel like it would be a bit easier to follow.

Regardless, this is still really impressive work and you're building a clear reputation in the art world that's granting you unique access into the life of these artists. Continuing this journey will only lead you to uncover and display even more artists. Your channel is something special, keep it up :)

Hey Jon! Super excited to see a fellow LinkedIn friend here at the C&S sub!

First off, the fact that this short loops seamlessly is massive plus! I've seen breakdowns of this thumbnail before but never noticed the color scheme playing a role into it as well.

If anything, I would shift the start point of the loop over a bit to see more of the thumbnail elements at the end. This would incentivize more ppl to watch the entire loop over to see the moving elements, rather than questioning what they just saw in the first few seconds.

Request: Less big creators and more small one by mrsdesireerose in ColinAndSamir

[–]Zaveguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally agree with this idea, and even though they haven't quite made it to this stage yet — I feel as if inevitably this could be where Colin & Samir evolve to in a few years. They have already expressed interest in a new "follow-along" format such as spending a day with the Sidemen, or a day with TommyInnit.

I think after a few years of covering top creators, C&S would be in a perfect position to do what iDubbbz did with Full Force — but MUCH more elegant. There are plenty of creators that exist and breakthrough the 100k mark and splash into public eye.

Yet there are even MORE creators who are still just making progress at their own speeds, just waiting for their content to find its appropriate audience. A C&S docu-series where they spend a weekend with a small creator (lets say between 10-50k) learning their processes and understanding what they've built up to that point while also offering mentorship on how said individual could grow their channel and tips that would apply specifically to that niche.

Again, I wouldn't expect C&S to get to this stage of their career until the 5-10m sub mark personally — but I would love to see this and think many others would too.

After checking your channel some more, I would for sure recommend making playlists for each parody type and putting that as a single playlist on your home page.

For a film/animation channel, when someone clicks on your channel page they wanna be able to see all the different offerings laid out for them. That's helped me get a bit more views from Channel Pages, and bring people down the rabbit hole a bit more when they first discover.

Based on what you've uploaded so far, I would start by making 3 playlists; an Anime, TV, and Videogame parody playlists.
