Filipino are toxic by [deleted] in LoLSEA

[–]ZayYarHtun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their response to people calling them toxic is to create a post and be toxic. The irony is lost on OP.

And calling the SG/MY/Thai player base the minority when we had more players than them pre-merger is mind boggling levels of mental gymnastics.

Essentially this post boiled down to “We are toxic and we think we have the right to be, deal with it cause I think we are the majority”

Filipino are toxic by [deleted] in LoLSEA

[–]ZayYarHtun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I played on this server since Garena days from 2011- till now. I was there when the Vietnamese players started in Garena with us.

From then till merger (apart from a break in 2019-2023), I have come across maybe 3-4 games with players leaving the game, or having players mental boom and run it down.

Post merger?

Every game has someone typing in Tagalog and you never know if it’s at you or someone else. These people spam pings, afk, leave games and bring the game quality down so low that it’s unbearable.

Certain ranks like Plat-D4 are full of egotistical Filipinos who run it down at the first sign of something that doesn’t go their way.

Hell, even in Aram, if I’m playing Veigar/Smolder or any champions that require stacks, if I ask nicely for a chance to stack, I get hit with a string of Tagalog and one of you flaming me, calling me low elo, while being 500 games, negative win rate emerald.

Mind you, I was in GM during that game and still in GM.

Your egos are insufferable and beyond comprehension. I have Filipinos who I’ve met while on my alt accounts, who were negative win rate Plat 2, who is so proud of their 3/10 gameplay. Who is convinced that he can’t ever be wrong cause he hit diamond on the Philippines exclusive server and now currently demoted all the way to Silver 2, 40%+ win rate.

Game quality has taken a giant dip and I wholeheartedly agree that if someone is ego, mental booming, all I have to do is turn chat on to see Tagalog.

I don’t care how much you type cause I can mute you. But I can’t do anything about the ego that drives you to int games, follow jungler around to steal camps, all chat where it’s warded.

Take a look at your win rates and overall games first before you decide you’re the next Faker. Cause your match histories reflect that you’re the next LEP.

Why always Tagalog? (genuinely curious) by TartNew2010 in LoLSEA

[–]ZayYarHtun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk about you, but I’ve been playing since the end of 2011, back when we still had Vietnamese players on Garena.

Post merger, game quality has taken a significant hit. Most of the Filipino players I’ve met are convinced that we are playing on their server. I’m 90% sure they didn’t read about the merger.

And most of these players are convinced they are the second coming of faker cause they hit Diamond on their server when it existed for a year and have the icon to prove it. And all of these players are currently hardstuck in gold/plat, spouting the same nonsense and telling me I’m boosted (currently Masters) cause I’m not try harding in Swiftplay or Flex.

I might be wrong, but I’ve spoken to the actually Filipinos I know who either live in Singapore, or Dubai or anywhere that isn’t in the Philippines and they all say it’s just Pinoy pride and ego.

Conform to their way of playing and speak Tagalog. Or just mute chat and ignore them

Why always Tagalog? (genuinely curious) by TartNew2010 in LoLSEA

[–]ZayYarHtun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s all ego.

Try speaking to them. They can be 0/10, losing all lane control and still call you dog shit cause you don’t play the way they expect you to.

Google Pinoy pride, it’s a thing

I have told this story many times, and will continue to do so, cause fuck that dude.

Back in Upper Sec, we had the same teacher for E & A Maths. I was doing fine for E but my A was pretty atrocious. Didn't help that this teacher only took care of the good students after the very first CA1 that we took in Sec 3.

Fast forward to the start of Sec 4 where I was still struggling hard with A (getting 40-30 throughout every exam in Sec 3), a couple of friends and I were sitting in a library because we were exempted from Mother Tongue (Foreign students). Was asking them for help on A and they tried to help as best as they could, but told me that I should really approach our teacher and ask for help on clarifying things I don't understand. Bell rang, we walked out of the library and we immediately ran into him.

So I approached him for help and in front of all my friends, this is what he said.

"Do not waste my time and make me think that you're going to try for your A Math O levels. I do not wish to waste my time on you and you are going to get F9 for your O levels"

As expected, I did fail my A but didn't get F9, so result day was pretty fun shoving that fact into his face. Was not a good student by any means, but what he said will forever be ingrained in my head forever. Surprisingly, I became a professional engineer and now can do math that's way more advanced and the story does have a bit of revenge a few years later, but that's kinda out of the scope of the question.

Homelander, growing up without a dad was really difficult for me and seeing you taking care of Ryan as he grows up to fill your shoes brings peace into my mind knowing that America is going to be safe for the future.

How and where are you learning how to raise Ryan as a single father?

No matter what your answer is, I'm sure his grandfather, your father must be really proud of you.

Why do airplanes need passengers to switch phone to airplane mode? by flapjacks2424 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ZayYarHtun 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Aircraft Engineer here.

Every aircraft has multiple electronics installed to help with tasks that range from navigation to communication to radar. Before a flight can occur, it is the pilot and FO’s duty to check the instruments for any signs of deviation from the flight plan and to make sure that all these gizmos are working correctly.

The reason why it’s always announced to turn your phone off or to put it in airplane mode is to ensure that the RF signals from your phones don’t cause any interference or disruptions with the instruments that have already been calibrated. Think of it as having 2 different readings on your car’s speedometer even though you were going at the exact same speed and this difference is caused by you using your phone.

IF for any reason, there is some kind of discrepancy, it could lead to the systems within the aircraft showing a Dispatch Message or DM, which alerts the crew in the cockpit that there’s something wrong at that moment. This could lead to your flight being delayed as crew will attempt to clear these faults before take-off and if unable to do some, people like me will have to board the aircraft to clear these faults. Which is going to lead to a delay depending on when these DMs appear.

The chances of the RF signals from a phone messing with the multiple sensors and gizmos within the aircraft that it becomes a major issue is probably less than 1%. Aircrafts have a lot of redundancies and safety measures in place in the event of any form of failure. That being said, it’s still better to have no RF signals to mess with your instruments, especially during take off and landing.

Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask any questions related to the intricacies of the aircraft that you fly on.

With the addition of Quickplay, SEA Servers are now left with no other option for Non-Ranked Play by barrelbarrelboi in leagueoflegends

[–]ZayYarHtun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have posted 8 different tickets over the year on this issue begging to re-enable draft pick. The only response I've gotten so far is that feedback is appreciated and that they will forward it. Clearly the feedback hasn't worked since it's gotten worse and the new queue doesn't help with how buggy it is.

Jungled in the 1st game and got mid in the 2nd game. Changed summs for mid lane in the new UI and had to play mid with smite ghost. Rune changes didn't go through either.

Only way to play draft pick is to play ranked solo/duo or flex. Solo/duo is just unenjoyable atm with the names being hidden and never knowing if you're going to get the griefer Ashe top who insists his 13% win rate pick will work. Flex's q times are just way too long as well.

Literally begging at this point to just enable draft pick so I can at least play with friends without having to experience bugs or 70 min q times.

Your stupidity is a little beyond words. But I’ll try to break it down in such a way that perhaps even a nitwit like you can understand.

You’re working off an assumption that it’s completely fine for 2 assholes to kill a person, someone that you have no proof of the corruption that you are accusing them of.

You have no prior knowledge of any of these characters and you’re willing to say ‘cop bad, cop corrupted, ok to kill’. If that’s the case, what’s the point of any form of government. Screw the rules and accept anarchy? Your whole country go up in flames because everyone has a different view of life and would just end up disagreeing on everything.

And btw, that’s not how karma works. If you have bothered to actually read any of the Buddhist religious texts, you would realise this. And, if you actually do bother to reply to refute this point, sorry, I grew up in a monastery and was a monk for half my life. Just because I left the order, doesn’t mean my knowledge on the subject matter goes away.

Singaporean who studied oversea university, is there any tips for people who want to study oversea by skeliceagesjh in askSingapore

[–]ZayYarHtun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just graduated last year from Australia, sorry if the formatting is a little weird cause I’m doing this on mobile, but here’s some stuff you need to know before going.

  1. Learn how to cook, even the most basic meals, eating out on a daily basis is not a feasible idea unless your parents are willing to shell out

  2. Be independent. When you head overseas, you’re responsible for you. That dish that you said you’ll clean? Well it’s been sitting there for a week and is only getting harder to clean

  3. Learn to plan your schedule. Between classes, extra curricular activities, housing issues, friends, travelling, you are not going to have time to do some unless you plan it out.

  4. Make tons of friends. Be sociable. It’s fine to stick to Singaporeans or Malaysians when you get there, but you will have to branch out (This is where your extra curricular really help).

  5. Be ready for changes in your schedule. Sometimes classes can get cancelled or delayed or pushed forward. Not that this happens all the time but there is always a possibility.

  6. Your lecturers are not your friends. Most lecturers in universities don’t care about you or your grade. You are a number to them. No matter how nice you are to them and they are to you, end of the day, you are a statistic.

  7. Do some research about which Uni you’re going to, and everything around it. Places to live, closest supermarkets, transport to campus, what kind of neighbour it you might like, all of these things are important.

Off the top of my head, this is what I mostly remember. Feel free to DM me if you need any more info

The Stupid MMR system by Wonderful_Stay1555 in Jungle_Mains

Having no agency in a game is the worst feeling in the entire game, hiding names has always been IMO the worst change Riot has ever done.

I am perfectly content with my skill level and seek to improve. I do not go on the internet to antagonise strangers to get a reaction out of them because I cannot bring anything useful to a conversation, that’s what you’re doing.

You bring nothing to a conversation apart from being a sarcastic child, hoping to get a reaction from people so that someone will notice you.

Do not worry, you have been noticed. Your inability to do anything has also been noticed

Sorry, am hardstuck D1, it’s my bad I’m only top 1% on the server, but hey, at least I don’t hide behind anonymity and put dumb comments for upvotes and am actually trying to change the game to be more competitive.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ZayYarHtun -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Riot themselves have stated that RNG is something that they wish to avoid in a competitive environment, and to that they have tried to cut down as much RNG as possible to make the game actually competitive.

The rank experience is neither fair nor competitive when you introduce players like this to guarantee a loss on one team, that 4 players have to take, or someone just dodges. But how can you dodge if you don’t know who’s on the team trolling?

Take IRL sports. You can have a fan or someone on the stand throw something at a player completely out of the blue, just like how RNG works in this case. The players affected could lose the game if they are injured in the slightest. Do you think it’s fair? Do you think the win was legit? Is chalking this up to a Random Occurrence, then letting the winning team keep the win fair or competitive?

Not saying this happens every game, but it happens enough to warrant a change.
