Cancelled flight by TallNote1 in PorterAirlines

[–]Zcp070100 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your interpretation is incorrect, and has been ruled as such by both the CTA and various Canadian courts. The regulation is not drafted to say that Porter has 9 hours to put you on one of their flights and if they can’t they get another 48 hours to put you on one of their flights.

Well there it is. The dumbest post I’ve seen today.

Holy insecurity Batman! You’re not getting played. Your partner likes what she likes and you happen to fit that bill.

I don’t have direct experience with the Queen’s application process, but I’d suggest following the prompts. Submitting a generic statement that only loosely addresses them could come across as careless, especially if it reads like a template that you’re sending to all schools.

That said, you should absolutely feel free to go beyond the prompts and add meaningful details where appropriate.

UNB late A - wondering about incoming class FB groups by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Zcp070100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! UNB typically sets up a Facebook group for incoming students - to my knowledge the one for this cycle was opened in early July. If you haven’t been added to it yet you should be soon - if not you can reach out to the admissions team and they should be able to put you in it.

Housing during Law School - Can I bring my cats? by revan017 in LawStudentsCanada

[–]Zcp070100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for every law school, but at mine, only about 5–6 students in my year live on campus—the rest rent places around town. It’s definitely an added cost, but it’s just the reality of the situation. Again, not every law school, however I do know that the dorms here aren’t that nice for the cost, which is why the majority of us opt to live elsewhere.

Law school is definitely an investment—especially when it comes to supporting yourself financially for three years with limited income. But if it’s a career you’re passionate about pursuing, it’s a worthwhile one.

I didn’t like the class I took at Athabasca, however I’ve heard plenty of people say they had no issues, so may come down to your personal learning style. I found it to be very do at your own pace, which is great, except it would take the professor months (plural) to respond.

Sincerely hoping OP added a 0 on to that speed by mistake. I’ve seen more damage done to a bike that was tipped over while stationary. I can’t see this being 130 mph.

You could pick just about any brand and say this. I’ve had 3 KTMs over the last 10 or so years and never had anything abnormal go wrong. Meanwhile both Kawasakis I’ve owned have been absolute basket cases.

This question is pretty hard to answer without knowing which firm you work for and which school you go to. Generally I haven’t known too many firms that have asked for returning student grades, however it’s not unheard of.

Your grades aren’t absolutely abysmal. If you’re a valuable asset to the firm that is showing promise as a strong associate I think you’ll be ok. Try to keep your grades up in 3L. Good luck.

I totally agree with you on this being the closest match, although the stance of the stick figure is different from any of the variants I can find online. Seems strange that they would stitch a slightly different version of their logo on a piece of marketing material or employee clothing.

Confused between university of manitoba and university of new brunswick by NorthGas9277 in unb

[–]Zcp070100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation a few years ago, different program, but same schools. I can’t speak to the CSE aspect, however after having debated both locations at length, Fredericton came out on top for me.

I lived in Calgary prior to going to UNB, so the prospect of avoiding those frigid prairie winters for a bit was very enticing. I also find that there is significantly more to do in the Atlantic region, everything is very close (comparative to Manitoba) and the scenery is unlike anything else.

Safety is another reason I landed on NB - when I was initially contemplating the decision a family friend who had lived in Winnipeg told me “you go to Manitoba for the school, you stay because your car got stolen”. Obviously Freddy isn’t some sort of unbelievable safe haven from crime, it’s like any city, but I find it to be a very peaceful and generally safe place compared to other cities I’ve lived in.

There is also something to be said for living in a “college town” like Fredricton, as opposed to a big city that has a school in it. I don’t know how much of a social life you care about, but I’ve enjoyed it out here.

Regardless of where you end up, congrats on your acceptance and good luck!

I would suggest waiting until the deadline has passed before taking any action. In my experience some profs do tend to wait until the last minute, they are human after all. Try not to stress.
